I'm technically a civil servant at the moment, my current boss has the attitude that if you can do stuff from home, then be pragmatic about your travel and stay home if you can. Civil servants have a duty not to add to the public transport chaos if they can help it, is his opinion.

It's bloody annoying when you get to the top of somewhere like that and there's already someone there getting in the way of all your photos, isn't it?

You could do what I've done and have a mishap in the snow and screw your ankle up.

If there wasn't snow, I'd be ok to get into work, but with the paths as they are currently, no thanks. Chance of reinjury is rather too high.

I'm not sure gazelles would be particularly sure footed in the snow while they were...

May explain why you had to walk in the middle of the road coming home Saturday night because you kept slipping on the pavement...

I usually am quite capable of not slipping, and am typically not afeared to run over snowy surfaces. However, when the snow hides the edge of a path in the dark and you're carrying a couple of heavy bags, the results are less pleasant. And with my ankle currently a bit stuffed (although nowhere near as bad as Saturday) I am considerably less able to make the adjustments required for not slipping on snow.

So staying at home. And working.

There was no snow overnight and none today, so now the pavements are at the deathtrap ice stage. Thankfully my YakTrax (which sounds more like a Jeff Minter Soundtrack CD than something you'd put on your shoes) are serving me well again so far.
