Nice one.

BTW, I keep reading TFF as TTF! As in "Can you feel it? Can you feel it? It's like a new emotion!"
(Viewers south of the border may have even less idea than usual of what I'm on about :DD )

I'm going to Vail (Denver) on Wednesday, and I suddenly realised while out this morning that I have no clothing that is even vaguely sensible for being up a mountain, so I went to TK Maxx.... WIN! Designer sallapets, jacket, fleeces and gloves all found, somehow matching, all fit brilliantly, and I saved £200! They even match my new black and pink running shoes! :D

A minor yay, but one that is overdue.

Some folk may remember that I used to get a wee bit narked at the service from WHSmiths where I used to live.

My issue was that they used to keep the vouchers for money off (£5 off when you spend £20, or half price book when you spend over £10) behind the till. When you bought anything they'd scan a little secret voucher in a plastic sleeve before you approached teh till, ring up your order and not give you the voucher that they'd scan. It used to annoy me because I'd use those vouchers if I had them, as I shopped there often, but they would never give them out to customers, and if you asked them about it they would lie through their teeth.

Anyway, I went to WHSmiths today, for maybe the second time since we moved here. Voucher scanned, put in bag, all good. Russell then asked for a voucher, but I said no, it was OK, the guy behind the till had given us one, but then I looked in the bag and he had not - again, he had hidden it back behind the till!

But then I recalled the notice I had seconds before seen near the till. That there was a promotion on and if the cashier failed to give you the voucher to ask for the manager as they'd issue you a £5 gift card in apology. I had noticed it for the very reason that I thought 'well, that will stop stores doing what they used to do in that other branch!'

So, I did ask for the manager, got a £5 voucher and exorcised that demon, finally.

Also, I have a four page photography tutorial article in The Knitter this month :)

I've just had my end of first month in the new job review, and all my boss had to say was sorry that I'd had so much work straight away and had to work such long hours, but that everyone is so happy that I'm here and really impressed with me, and that the Kathryn feedback phrase going around the office is "blown away".

YAY! :DD

(and no, not in that way, Grim..., before you say anything  )

Our Christmas secs came down on Saturday. Less sparkly now, but also nice and uncluttered.

Everyone still has their Chrimbo decorations up over here, it is really depressing. Although not as depressing as seeing Christmas decorations and listening to Christmas music while having my breakfast this morning. It's supposed to be a Muslim country here for the zombie baby jebus's sake.

/EDIT: Sorry this really shouldn't be in the Yay! thread.

The company I interviewed at before Christmas just called me back. They want to meet next week with a view to making an offer.
Tentative yay then, depending on the package they offer me.
Best of all, it's not retail!

Fantastic! Getting out of retail usually = good.

I mean, I won't lie, I kinda miss being a Gamestation manager, but I work vastly less hours and earn just under twice as much as I did there. So it's hard not to say it was a good move.
