I believe he's one of Doug Stanhope's mates (or at least he's been on his radio show a number of times and Alex Jones has appeared in a number of his live gigs).

Jones is a conspiratorial shock jock, I think. Thinks 9/11 was an inside job, yadda yadda yadda.

...and regarding Stanhope, you do know he is a Libertarian (in the nutso, US version of the word) and believes some wacky stuff himself?

Of course Jones' real crime is that he makes me want to side with Piers Morgan.

I can't believe they put Morgan in a room with a gun nut and he's still not dead. What the fuck else do we have to do?

Coming up next week - Piers Morgan tries out a new raw meat aftershave, and then interviews Jeff, who believes that ravenous tigers make ideal house pets!

In terms of utter malice, the Bath school massacre boggles my mind nearly a century on.

Always makes me tremendously upset, reading that. The epic scale of cuntery there is something to behold.

A lot of the time in US school shootings, it’s a teenager who has had a shitty time at school via his peers, not for one minute saying this makes it right, but in these cases there is some twisted logic and reason why the wrong person can go mental when bullied and when they have access to guns.

With this guy I don’t understand he was 20, and shot a load of 6 years olds, what could they have ever done to hurt him? He was 14 when most of them where born.

I would imagine the mentality is a form of attention seeking. Many who contemplate suicide do it as a form of attention seeking, a way of saying to the world "Look what you've made me do. If only you were all less cunty, I'd still be here" kind of thing. But just killing yourself in the post-Columbine world isn't much of a statement, you probably won't even get a small mention in the local paper. However, go on a shooting spree and take out a load of innocent bystanders and you're national news. Walk into a primary school and murder as many innocent school children as you can and the entire world will be talking about you, they'll want to know your name, what you look like, they'll want to know what on Earth could've happened that made you want to do what you've done. Then everyone will know your torment.

I imagine that as long as it remains a fairly trivial matter for a mentally troubled individual to gain access to firearms, this will keep happening. And it'll probably get worse.

That Alex Jones video made me actually naseous. Good Patrick Moore impression, though.

Y'know, I do actually think there's too much violence in media out there, and it probably does have an effect overall. Not on every kid, but as a general atmosphere which indicates guns are problem solvers.

Violent movies and games should be rarer, but more awesome.

Much like a good Kenneth Williams impression, everyone should have a good Patrick Moore impression for emergencies.

Carrying a gun and using it to solve your problems instead of waiting for the police is best. Likewise if we don't like someone we should drop bombs on them instead of using diplomacy. Otherwise they (in both cases) might have a chance to arm themselves.

Eurogamer article on how guns are put into some games with the hope that after using them in game people will want them in real life.
