Another day, another crying child. It's like one long Jim'll Fix It after show party. This time it's Malc who won't be getting a fat man down his Chimney, and he looks pretty unhappy about it.

Malc was a good little boy

[playerlist]
TheFireFaerie
KovacsC
Goddess Jasmine
Kalmar
Slightly Green
sdg
[/playerlist]

With 6 players remaining, 4 votes are required to put someone on the naughty list, and 4 votes not to. Day 8 will end Friday 10pm.

Oops! Sorry Saturnalian, you sure did smell bad though.

OK, keep me right - out of the remaining players, Santa did not vouch for the following:

Goddess Jasmine
Kalmar
Slightly Green

I know I'm good. We've assumed SG is good because he gave up squirt. As I've said before, that could have been a clever ruse. But as said yesterday, GJ has been ringing alarm bells as being one of the ones to argue against Santa's pick when we were all voting for Alarm the Grinch.

So she is still looking the baddest to me just now. Let's not rush today though.

Yup it is between GJ and Kalmar for me. KovacsC what is making you go on Kalmar's hunch (especialy since he could easily be the goblin?) Why do you trust him over GJ?

Not saying GJ isn't the Gobo but still would be nice to talk this through, unlike yesterdays total fuck up

Probably they way that GJ questioned santa, even though no one had apposed his role claim.

To be fair, Santa didn't know Alarm was bad for sure, it was just a hunch. But with little else to go on it made sense to back Santa for me, so that did make me suspicious.

Apart from that she has been pretty quiet, will need to check voting patterns but I think she kept her head down which is usually a Bad sign :)

OK, well, I've read through. I think it has to be GJ. Only time she's talked about suspecting people, they've been good. Only time she's voted, was the final vote for Curio (when it was already a done deal) and Saturnalian who was good.

Sorry GJ, but I reckons you're a lonely goblin who MUST BE STOPPED!

Oh no this is terrible! Two little good boys on the naughty list *sobs quietly into the snow*

This is a tough one, because if we don't get the last baddie today (yup, there can only be one left according the rules!) then we'll lose another two good little girls / boys (one in the vote and one overnight, seeing as the Goblin will be able to night action again).

Which will leave two good girls / boys and the goblin come tomorrow... It still leaves the chance that the good little girls and boys will be victorious, as there'll be at least one confirmed good girl / boy (I'm assuming Kovac and I are both clear from the vote today!!), but it leaves the Goblin and one remaining unknown goodie to fight it out for the vote, which are not odds that I like! No pressure on Kov and I, then... :-/

Much safer to take our time and try and nail that Goblin for sure today!!

Just realised I have mucked that up completely as I left SDG off!! Sorry! *blushes with embarrassment*

In which case, slightly better odds of surviving another day!

Still want that Goblin gone gone gone!

I didn't ague against Santa's pick, I asked him why he kept on voting for you and then changing his mind which I considered a fair question and still do.

Slightly Green wrote:

yes, I only voted so early yesterday as I knew I wouldn't be around in the afternoon and I was aware that I hadn't been getting votes in - damned if you do damned if you don't, I'll look back in a min and see who pushed the vote so quickly.

KovacsC wrote:

Well you might trust what someone tells you 100% but I certainly don't without proof. It's a shame that Mali dying was the first proof that we had though.

I have been quiet, but because I have been busy over Christmas, not because I was 'keeping my head down'. I got a vote in yesterday to stop suspicions, and look how that turned out.

I can't prove that I am good except by letting you put me on the naughty list which seems silly. I am going to vote Kalmar as I have been FOSing him from the beginning and he keeps twisting what I have said. Santa did vote for him twice before changing his mind to someone else so that's good enough for me.

[vote:Kalmar]

TFF voted not long after me, kalmar cast the final vote.

It's a pet hate of mine that people do that before everybody has had a chance to speak though if I'm honest.

Even now you know for sure he was Santa? Seems to me it was a good method of looking for patterns, see who switched with him and who didn't. Or he actually read what I said in defence, read my history and realised I was genuine (and then forgot). Or more likely just did it for the lols :D

See, this is the point, I had very little doubt that MaliA was genuine after he roleclaimed, and it's clear that other confirmed goodies had the same thought - i.e. they voted with him and didn't cast doubts. What basis would you have for doubting him, especially when after a couple of lynches and night actions, his list was shown to be correct?

Haha, so now you trust Santa's random voting?
Anyway, I would like to hear more from those on the known good list, not heard from SDG yet, and hopefully they can make their decision based on the voting history etc.

Of course not, but at the time sure. I disagree with the patterns, it was obvious at that stage that everyone was going to follow what he said, indeed I did myself until he changed his mind about you for the second day running, that was what started me wondering. I don't think we can really read anything into the voting after he role claimed.

But so would have the Grinch's or a goblins, because everyone had been good it didn't actually prove anything. I'm sure Alarm knew who the good guys were too.

I think it would have been very strange for GJ to stick her neck out and question Santa if she was a goblin. I also still don't think we can 100% trust SG, because the revealing a baddy to us could have been a ploy. However there is no way we are going to vote for sg because if it was a ploy, it's still to risky for us to try and find out.
I think I am most suspicious of kalmar.

Even if the Grinch himself was up for the chop? Under orders to try to help?

I know. Got to say though, seems odd to sacrifice one of your own team that early on - why not say a baddie is a goodie, still a gamble but chances are both would still be in the game.
Balance of probability, I'm trusting him, like I trusted poor old Santa :'(

SG is definitely my biggest quandary, because I think it's completely plausible for a Goblin to axe one of their own to buy immunity, especially early on - saves them from being voted for for most of the game (as has happened!). However, knowing that Nick was the only one naughtied that night, which I know was me, it does suggest that SG was at least telling the truth about the gift - if it had been the same as mine, someone else would have been naughtied too.

Dilemma.

Not at all sure about Kalmar and GJ. At the moment they're going at it like a good vs. bad would, very defensive and a fair bit of finger pointing (admittedly the most attacking being Kalmar I think).

I'm going to wait and see a bit more...

*slowly twirls a pigtail in the corned of the snowy square, watching quietly*

SG being as you said a quandary, that sort of leaves GJ and myself in the spotlight, which is why we're 'going at it' I guess. I know for sure I'm good, I think I can back this up. And GJ does look bad, if what happened a couple of days back was what it felt like: her trying to sway people from lynching the Grinch.

But I am willing to accept the possibility we are both good.

Bet they're laughing it up in the, umm, naughty step.

My problem is the way GJ questioned Santa. It looks bad, but would a baddy really do that so near the end? Obviously everyone Santa named believe him because he got out roles right, but if I was an innocent and wasn't named, it would be difficult for me to accept what he said without question when I didn't know if the names on his list were good. As an uninformed innocent, they could have been some random names plus a goblin and no one would have questioned it.
I don't know, I keep flipping between who I want to vote for. What's the voting patterns/parcel swapping patterns?

I don't think either of GJ or SG took part in the pass the parcel. I passed to two good boy/girls - Malc and TFF.

Isn't there an automatic who-voted-for-who thinger somewhere? I've read through everything SG and GJ posted in this game, using the search function (search by author only in mafiascum forum) and made my decision based on that.
It really is a toss-up between the two of them though, if we don't get it right, the goblin will bump off one of the trusted people tonight and we'll have the exact same dilemma again tomorrow

This is not easy.

If we only have 1 goblin left, do we have 2 chances?

Thank you. :)

As for the parcel swapping, I'm not convinced anything can be read into it, an innocent could have passed to two goblins without having a clue (admittedly I haven't looked).

My problem with SG is that I have known goblins in another village do exactly the same thing when one of them found out he wasn't going to be around to help anymore. Not saying this is the case here, but y'know.

Waiiiiiit a minute.

That's a VERY odd thing to say, given that the only two other people on the unknown list, apart from yourself, ARE GJ and Kalmar! What else could you possibly think??

That's thrown me...

Well... only 5 and a bit hours left or no one goes on the naughty list, and that would be completely the worst thing to happen!

I won't be able to get back on again before 10pm, so I'm going to have to make my decision here and now.

I agree that as an unknown innocent I wouldn't have taken MaliA's role claim for granted, and would have wanted to ask some questions first. Kalmar and GJ are either two goodies genuinely defending their position or it's a very hard to tell good vs. bad fight! I still think it's plausible for a Goblin to take the chance of a same team sacrifice to buy immunity.

I still don't have a clue who the Goblin really is, but I'm definitely leaning towards...

Sorry I have been so quiet, have been out all day.

why is it a odd thing to say that for me it is between Kalmar and GJ? Of course it is as all the other are confirmed by Santa and I know I am good.

The fact that Kalmar has jumped straight for me again as soon as TFF places a vote smacks of desperation of the last Goblin in the game to me, he has just help[ped me come to the decision

[vote:Kalmar]

I was leaning toward GJ but I think I should [vote:kalmar]
If sg is bad, well played but I would rather be beaten by a clever strategy from a baddy than by us taking the risky choice and effing it up! If it comes to it, we can have that conversation tomorrow.

May as well have it now, since you've made the wrong choice :) it's always the quiet ones...

Nah, I've leaned on GJ a good bit, she's stuck up for herself and she and others have raised good points against you. It's got to be one of you.

Other that the fact I have consistently voted for the bad uns. The one day I haven't voted was when you all rushed it and killed off a good kid yesterday :(

On top of this I used my gifted night action to investigate and then reveal a bad guy.

Can't think what else I can say to defend myself, Kalmar has been dodgy for along time, and seems to think the fact he passed the parcel to known good people (after the event) is proof that he is a good guy. The only way he could have known that he was passing the parcel to good people is if he was a Goblin.

I would rather today ends with a person being added to the naughty list as this crazy argument will carry on tomorrow and scupper the town. So I will change my vote to myself at 21.55 if no one else has finished me or Kalmar off before then. This will hopefully give the town a chance tomorrow with some of the confusion of the craziness out of the way.

Kalmar
Slightly Green
Goddess Jasmine

one of the 3 is bad, I KNOW it isn't me, and am willing to prove it the only way I can if it comes down to it.

Right, I'm changing my mind, agree with the point that SG may be bad but it's a risky vote
