2013! A year begins! Eager to make their mark on it, good Beexers step forth with courage, confidence, and a little well-earned swagger. This will be your year, friends, SEIZE IT! Bend it to your will, force it to meet your goals. Put meekness to one side and stride forth onto the fields of 2013 like a demigod. Imitate the action of the tiger, stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood, disguise fair nature with hard favoured rage and make this year your bitch.

Ahem.

Alternatively, have a quick look through what we've been talking about over the last couple of weeks. Maybe with a nice cup of tea.

We of course talked about New Years' Resolutions. Best of luck to those committing to something this year - and indeed there were plenty more folks in the Middle Aged Spread thread making similar health-related commitments. Curiosity failed to buy some technology. Kern suggested that we try to sum up our 2012 in a single photo which is no simple task. Northern Drinkies are planned! Attend!

A number of you also took time out from stuffing your fat faces to indicate which posts entertained you over the course of the festive period:

Kern provides Mali with a zing for Matthew Kelly
Craster asks DavPaz the difficult question
AtrocityExhibition displays the depth of his cosmopolitan wanderings
WTB offers up the true spirit of Christmas
Davpaz explains cross-dressing furniture
Zardoz introduces the world to Gayboy
AtrocityExhibition becomes self-aware

A bloody happy new year to you all!

Can I have some new volunteers for 2013 Beex Weex please?

I thought "new" discounted me, so I didn't say "Sir, yes, sir" but I will if you so desire.

I'm of the opinion that if you have a post count above zero you're a volunteer.

Yeah, but pointing and saying "you're doing it" doesn't work, because there are various reasons why people can't, and then I end up doing it week on week.

That would be lovely, sir. I'll send on the few I've had up to now.

I could just check my 'sent messages'.

Nominations in by noon thursday, please, so I can write it up on Thursday evening, if that is fine by all. Ta.

Surely that's also the case for people who volunteer for the year?

I wasn't being that optimistic - I was after volunteers for the next few weeks, really.

I'm happy to do another one - perhaps its worth having a post somewhere where people can just put their name down and get added to a list ?

I'm with Grim... in that I think anyone should give it a go and postcount in the last week > 0 should be enough to get you in but as thats proved to be impractical then getting a pool of people who would do it seems the next best ?

BTW I thought the previous method was that the outgoing person picked a replacement , and that seemed to fall apart when certain people forgot about it (or picked people who were not able to take part that particular week?)

Ah, I didn't have you down on my list. Noted.

I'll stick up a volunteers list in a sensible place at some point.

You can stick me on the list for one as well - it almost certainly won't get posted at 1337 o'clock though.

I'll be happy to have my name on the list of volunteers but it might be best if I'm near the bottom for now. BabyTheVision is taking up a lot of my time in the evenings at the moment.

I think Cavey was also a volunteer if he could have some time with TheVision to set things up

So you may want to mark this up and make it a joint effort ?

Cavey has indeed been in touch with me and that's all I can say (mainly because we haven't agreed anything but it sounds more mysterious if I leave it hanging)

Right. Stuck in in the members only forum because I hate having extraneous stickies in here.

Cheers!
