Well I said I would organise this about 6 weeks ago and then have barely logged in since, however Curio has pertinently reminded me so here is the poll. Which is not a poll because frankly fuck that, I have simply decreed the date to be the weekend of April 6-7th. If it turns out loads of people want to come but can't make that then we can cross that bridge when we reach it.

Tentative plan is lunch(arrival time depending)/drinking/possible dancing on Saturday, brunch/lunch/drinking (departure time depending) on Sunday. If anyone intends making a weekend of it, and I strongly recommend this idea, then I'm happy to arrange some sort of meal out/drinks fandango on the Friday night too. I shall be back in due course with more specific ideas of where we are going and cheap hotel recommendations, although since Manchester has proved a hotbed of Beex funtimes once before then many of you will already have some idea about the latter. It truly is a land of milk, honey and opportunity!

Please express interest here!

Early adopters:
Alberto
Craster
Zardoz
Throughsilver
Kern
Plissken
Curiosity
MaliA (+MrsA?)

Wavering Woofters:
Kalmar
Wullie

Yay!

Is there an Official-Beex-Cheap-Hotel-of-Awesome for this?
Or at least, which neighbourhoods should we be looking at for one?

As before, if there's handy car transport that I get a lift with (and pay towards costs) then I'd be in. Trains, not so much.

On our recent trip we stayed at the new-ish Premier Inn on Dale Street which was cheap and pleasant enough. The other selling point is that it's literally two minutes from Picadilly station (if you go out the back entrance) which makes it very handy for the train. Also, they had an automated check-in machine so you could skip the queue of massive foreign families buggering around at the reception desk when you just want to check in which is pretty satisfying.

Whatever it is, it's way more than I can spend on a room! Anyone willing to put Craster and I up on the Sat night? Plenty of cheap rooms on the Fri, just not the Sat!

Let's rent a flat for the weekend and have a mini cottag3 experience!!!
