I think it is possible, wrt to hardware solutions, that should the Steam box take off, you may see devs not pushing the boundaries as far so as not to limit the sales to people without the steam box.

I don't understand a word of this. I mean, I understand the individual words but not in the order you've put them there.

I like graphics. Since I don't know how much better graphics can be, if they start getting better I'd like to experience betterer graphics.

Graphics aren't everything, but they do help of course.

BF3 totally pimped out is a thing of strange and beautiful wonder, if the SteamBox and/or the next-gen consoles can kick that out, everyone's in for a treat.

The less exclusive and the easier PC gaming gets, the better.

I like it when we harmoniously talk about games. It's nice.

I played that Hotline: Miami on a friends PC t'other day. He'd got his Alien PC linked up to his 52 inch living room TV with surround sound etc and it was just like playing any other console game. 'cept Hotline was frickin' aces and I couldn't play it when I got home. Hmmph.

Oh and Max Payne 3 looked more awesome too but only incrementally so.

More exciting than graphics are things like 64 player Battlefield, larger sandbox worlds and more intricate AI. More power opens up more than just shiny.

Likewise my ongoing wish for a GTA-style open world game with proper crowds and traffic. The very first thing my friend said of Sleeping Dogs was that there weren't enough people or cars.

But if there was, it would render it unplayable.

Ahh. Yes indeed I am referring to Doc G. No offence to current mods.

I would love a game like that. London, with all the commuting shit, but me with guns and baseball bats and no consequences...

GTAIV (PC) had a traffic density slider, and you could indeed set it to what might be considered 'authentic levels', to give you an idea, the 360/PS3 versions ran at about 30 (on a scale of 0-100), on the PC you could set it all the way up to 100.

However, the hilarity of blowing up entire traffic jams and bridges worth of traffic aside, it made the game incredibly annoying to play. At a setting of 100 the traffic sort of flowed in the main, but it only took one little accident or terrified citizen evacuating their car, and very quickly an entire city block would become completely snarled up. (See also, real life.)

I actually ended up setting it back down to 30, which is exactly where it started.

Hmmm, you know, I didn't try that. Or if I did, I don't remember, so it clearly wasn't very exciting.

You could always play the Getaway if it *has to be* London. Or you could just play GTAIV and try to go everywhere on the subway.
