So i worked an extra hour, I've been to the gym for a couple of hours, I've come home and prepared spag bol which is currently stewing on the hob, I've checked the internet for stuff and now I am bored.

Have just been to that lovely Ontario institution, the LCBO and have discovered an Innis and Gunn molasses porter, which I'm looking forward to sampling tonight. If it's as good as their rum finish ale, it will be very good indeed.

I contemplated trying to finish my 24 pack of Steam Whistle last night so when my friend arrived with her minivan to drive me to the airport cargo area, she could also take me to the Beer Store on the way back to drop off the empties and get some more.

Not sure if, after two cans, one bottle and a vodka Mountain Dew (what?) I would have been a well person this morning having forced down another six cans of beer in a hurry.

I got woken up at 3:10am last night by a woman wanting to book a taxi.

'I think you've got the wrong number, and thanks for waking me up.'

In all fairness she was very apologetic, and she sounded quite nice, too.

Woohoo! More NAS fun!

I can no longer write to my Netgear NAS. Playing around with the disks, it seems that one of the drives which is still healthy and used to be fine, now crashes the NAS. It works fine when it is out of the NAS and mounted on its own
It's not on the "compatible" list, but really? It's just a disk and has been fine for the past 6 months, yet suddenly it doesn't work? How can a NAS really be that picky about the disk type, right down to the actual model serial numbers of disks? My Drobo will use anything and everything, of any size and never skips a beat.

I see the 4 bay Drobos are down to £200 now, I might just get another one of those and fuck the Netgear.

MoMA NY has added 14 games to its collection due to some reasoning that probably makes sense to someone. They will be adding another 26 in the future. "Which games, MaliA?" I hear you say. Well, here's the list:

Quote:
•Pac-Man (1980)
•Tetris (1984)
•Another World (1991)
•Myst (1993)
•SimCity 2000 (1994)
•vib-ribbon (1999)
•The Sims (2000)
•Katamari Damacy (2004)
•EVE Online (2003)
•Dwarf Fortress (2006)
•Portal (2007)
•flOw (2006)
•Passage (2008)
•Canabalt (2009)

Oh, and the selection criteria:

Quote:
Playability and pure gaming goodness were not enough for a game to be accepted into MoMA's rarified atmosphere. As Antonelli explains, neither visuals nor aesthetics – although important – would suffice, either. Among the criteria she cites that elevate a game beyond the quotidian are the elegance of its code and the behavior of the game player that the game evokes.

With all those charity events in the diary and your proximity to Leeds, can you clarify if the interview is for night work as a hospital porter?

Very recently, I've been getting some graphical weirdness on the 360. In Saints Row 2 and Just Cause 2, shadows and the thin/translucent bits of the hair hair are not displaying properly - they're showing as really pixelly black and clear checkerboards. Anyone else getting this, or aware of it?

The 360 has known problems with hair hair.

My dude's tache looks bizarre in SR2. I can live with that.

However, weirder is that the heat haze effects and more translucent shadows in JC2 have started showing as little black pixels - it didn't do that a month ago.

Does it do it all the time, or only after you've been playing for a while?

Either way, it might be worth cleaning the fan ports out to make sure it's not getting too hot. And also not posting in "whore topic that sensible people ignore 37".
