So you're the reason Christopher Maloney is still in the X Factor!

I heard it on the internet (so it must be true) that he's won the phone vote every single week.

Just watching how much the judges critisise him, and how he's always announced as safe 3rd last each week, tells me the producers are not really happy about that fact (or maybe they are as more people are voting).

That's for tension, surely. He's the one everyone keeps expecting to go out, so you leave it as long as possible before announcing that he's safe, and it's more of a shock.

Somebody should send a tweak out on the blogosphere telling everyone to come home.

Oh for gawds sake, BEEX. There's nothing wrong with the forum, its much the same as what happens to most forums. Forums are a rather harrowing insight into how groups of people interact and pack mentality. Noone's fault other than HUMANITY.

and an argument that is basically formed from format zealotry? C'mon, man. I know it has a history (which is the only reason people are getting 'angry' about it), but that's all it is if you take a step back.

The forum has peaked, just like all forums do, silly threads like this are less frequent but still happen. Better to talk about computers and games (any format!) and stuff until the end. Otherwise, humanity doomed.

In other news, I've been playing Fallout 3 again as I didn't play it that much the first time round. Not as good as NV, but still ace.

I thought I would use my tenth post to wade in on this issue.
I have been a member since 2010 and catch up every so often with the goings on.

However, I have never really found a good time to post as I have always felt that everybody knows everybody else and an outsider will always be considered as such.

This is the first time I have seen a thread dedicated to issues between members. I can't say that I am fully up to date with the reasons behind this but it seems to me that both sides agree that they disagree. They just don't like the way the other has chosen to air their grievances.

The other reason I haven't really posted is the fear of ridicule, even faceless ridicule which shows that people do care what others think of them, even on the internet.

Anyway I'm getting too old to fear ridicule and I've embarrassed myself too many times so do your worst!

Hello again!

You should post more, don't be afeared of the ridicule. This place could do with some new regulars.

OH NOES TEH IRONING

Seriously, though - I don't think any of us are opposed to "outsiders" - especially when you aren't one, really.

Hi Nicademus! You should definitely join in. The good thing about having more people is that it often promotes more balance. Also, you obviously are a good candidate for an ace Christmas name.

Ignoring people now makes their posts vanish from the forum, as well as any posts which quote them.

Note that this only works on the default site (ie. not the quote-limiting one) and the mobile site.

Tapatalk people - sorry, but I don't think I can help you.

Heh, so it does; excellent. It's going to be interesting living in this parallel universe where selected people literally don't exist. It's likely to make some threads into utter gibberish depending on who's involved and who each person has on their ignore list but that'll just be funny in itself. Good job dude!

Adding someone to your 'Foes' list traditionally mean you would see that someone had posted in a thread but wouldn't see the content of each post unless you selected to by clicking a link. Grimm's changed it though so that, for anyone on your Foes list, now you don't see their posts at all so they completely disappear for you. The feature is called 'Ignore' in other board software hence why a lot of people refer to it by that name even though it's called a Foes list here.

Dog bless you.

I thought there was an 'Ignore' button somewhere that I hadn't seen, but I have now gone into my UCP and IGNORED YOU ALL.

I'm 90% sure it doesn't care what's in your sig.

Warhead: In your profile you have a foe list - if you add someone to that list, you won't see any posts from them - or posts quoting them - again. The "Review Warhead" thing is a really old in-joke.

No.

[edit]Unless you follow a link straight to them (and, in fact, I think you can follow a direct link to a post of an ignored person (maybe in Beex Weex) and it will show up) or they show up in a search. This means they show up in active and unanswered topics, too (as these are searches).
