You know that awful song that is on Sky Sports when the football is on? On the Ford sponsorship bits? My next door neighbour was listening to that the other day.

That shoddy 'written in the stars! A million miles away! Something blah blah wind!' one? Dunno, but it was the WrestleMania theme too. It made money, evidently!

That's your favourite song, that is. That's your all time top of the pop that you'll walk down the aisle to.

When you marry its singer.

The way the statue in the clip appears to be looking at the man's bits with a look of disgust and intrigue is quite amusing.

Of course, 'Naked man claims onto Duke of Cambridge' would be an even bigger story. ;)

After events of the past week, the "Wedding Planning Round Table Commitee" has been poisoned, stabbed, rolled up into a carpet and thrown into the Volga. This has been replaced by me, in a position of absolute authority, and MrsA as enforcer. "It will be here or here, your travel arrangements, as your accomodation arrangements are your own, and we've arranged for models to replace you in the photos". Any objections are met with MrsA.

The ever-useful 'Wikipedia' (citation needed) has a list of Prime Ministers' nicknames. Of the 13 post-war ones, there is no entry for Anthony Eden.

We must make amends.

Things I have learnt today:

When making telephone inquiries for the hire of 99 doves and a perigrine falcon do not mention the words "a bit like a raffle, but better".

Although if you get that confused with a pangolin and get MrsA down the aisle accompanied by a horde of screeching monkeys that would be tops.

I literally can't remember the last time I had absinthe. I believe it was funtimes, though, despite the photos.

this evening I had to resort to cointreau.

Played seven hours of X-COM: Apocalypse today. Whatever was causing my game to crash on the end of week report hasn't bothered the Steam version, and after nearly a decade I've been able to pick up my Superhuman game.

I'd done quite a lot, too... three bases, captured the first six types of UFO. I'm on the brink of where things turn in my favour, as I have the disruptor cannons being researched now and have just encountered aliens with the portable energy shield, so that'll be next (with any luck, before that fucking Entropy Gun appears). Just fended off a base assault too.

This morning there was so much flooding on the walk to the train station that every single car that went through a puddle drenched the entire pavement. That turned the walk into a platform game where I had to dash along stretches of pavement in between cars in order to reach safe zones. Which was nice.

I prefer the game where you have to time your driving so that pedestrians aren't behind parked cars as you pass them.
