Same version; it was the theme for Channel 4's coverage of the Paralympics.

I think one team got the group right, but that was it.

I managed to miss that entirely (not only at the quiz, but also at Cottag3).

That's an interesting message to attach to the Paralympics :S

It's the time of year where I'm looking round for Christmas gift ideas for my family and only seeing stuff I want.

Yes I know it's fairly early for shopping but I want to spend the weeks before Christmas winding down if I can, not trudging round the shops.

How so? Seems quite positive to me, and fitted well with the theme of superheroes.

Take this chunk of the first verse:
Quote:
That ain't got nothing to do with rap,
Check the facts expose those cats,
Who pose as heroes and take advantage of blacks.
Your governments gangster so cut the crap.
A war going on so where you at?
Fight the power comes great responsibility.
F the police but who's stopping you from killing me?

Or did they chop that bit?

The problem isn't knowing where to buy. The problem is what to buy.

Roll dice and generate SKU numbers. Search for that SKU and buy it. it'll be either really good fun, or horrendously expensive.

A house in Bicester. You would want MrsA to be happy, wouldn't you? You wouldn't want her to be angry.

I dunno, tbh.

Either way, it's an uplifting song about responsible revolution; about standing up and becoming a hero rather than relying on gangster rappers and corrupt politicians to set your agenda.

If I were to summarise the spirit of the Paralympics I'm fairly sure it would be all about "responsible revolution; about standing up and becoming a hero rather than relying on gangster rappers and corrupt politicians to set your agenda."

I must have missed the "400m hurdle over politicians" and the "air rifle shootout with gangstas"

Quite.

I particularly enjoyed the 200m Shaking Foundations From The Skies at the Barcelona Olympics.

I've just twigged how weird swimming events are. Freestyle, back stroke, breast stroke, butterfly stroke...
Why isn't it just "go as fast as you can in the water"? That's like having the 100m "running backward" or "hopping" final...

They've got one of those, it's called the triple "jump"

"go as fast as you can" == "freestyle"

Which would be excellent.

I still think that we should carry forth the chilhood events to the Olympics: Sack Race, 3 legged and Egg & Spoon.

Oh, and at the end all the competitors Dads get to race too.

Didn't we do this on the Olympics thread?

I agree, way too many swimming events, which are all people doing basically the same thing. The Butterfly was a loophole in the Breaststroke rules, so instead of accepting it or banning it, they made it a whole new event! :D Why didn't they do the same in the high jump when that changed to the flop method?

I've always thought it's a bit odd. The best swimmers can win several medals per games, as there are loads of combinations that you can enter. However, you could be the best boxer or weightlifter ever and you're only ever going to win one medal per games.

I wonder when Kissyfur wil actually ask a question that is answerable?

Answerable doesn't look right.

Hmm. That was interesting. Job going. 4 days in Leeds and 1 in St Albans doing market research. Pay is better, too. I have an Excel test to do tonight and then we will see I guess.

Telephone interview tomorrow. They, apparently, loved my Excel skills.

60 minutes of talking about how awesome i am later the interview was over.

Why isn't it just "go as fast as you can in the water"? That's like having the 100m "running backward" or "hopping" final...

In that vein: what the fuck is the pole vault all about?
