Satsumas are easily the best small orange type fruit, how come they only come out at xmas, yet you can get shitty clementines the whole year round?

You can get good and bad of all varieties, the way to distinguish is the redness of the orange, the tightness of the skin, and the ease with which the peel is removed. The same goes for Essex girls as well.

Are you sure you're not thinking of clementines, mandarins or tangerines?
Or am I thinking of one of them, possibly...

Finally got to drive my Alfa to work today, the first time we've done the commute. It's a beautiful Italian car built in such a way that you can't help but feel it may all fall to bits at any given moment. It's lovely, and definitely makes the commute more exciting!

LULZ, classic.

Went to a Halloween party last Friday night; someone came dressed as Jimmy Savile, resplendent with blonde wig, cigar and all the rest. Surprised they got in, really. :D

I went as Ozzy Osborne...

Nope. It was at my old fave La Belle Epoque mate. Good night had by all, from what I can remember of it at least.

Damn Sambucca; lethal bloody stuff.

Dog owners!

Are you mental? Do you read your dog bedtime stories? Is your throat hoarse from barking along with your dog at people walking by your house?

No more!

Play this story for dogs instead while you try to scratch the back of your head with your foot. You loon.

Also, on the subject of beer, I declare Brew Dog's Punk IPA as the best thing wot one can buy from the booze section of Sainsburys. It's proper yum.

There's a Brew Dog pub in Nottingham. We bought some tickets on Groupon over the weekend to do a Beer, Meat and Cheese tasting night there with our friends. Yay! :D

We went to a beer tasting in the Glasgow Brewdog pub on Monday, it was brilliant. We arrived early so had a pint of Dead Pony Club while we waiting, which was gorgeous. I can't remember all the ones we had in the tasting although I do remember particularly liking Zeitgeist, although I would drink every single one of them again. Except maybe Tokyo*, which was our last one. It is sold in 1/3rd pints and is 18%. It smells really sweet, like sherry or something but when you drink it the sherry idea is drowned out by hops. Very interesting, not unpleasant but not something I'd make a habit f drinking. We also got a sniff of Tactical Nuclear Penguin and Sink The Bismarck. They brought out the meat and cheese platter just as we were beginning to feel a little tipsy as well which was brilliant. I immediatly went to Asda when we got home and stocked up on Trashy Blonde's, 5am Saint's and Punk IPA. Will need to go to a speciality shop or order online for Zeitgeist I think.

I would really really recommend a Brewdog beer tasting to anyone though. We were worried we would like one, then find we had loads more that we didn't but we actually liked every single one. Plus the person hosting is informative and good for a laugh. A wee change from a usual night out but great fun. We'll be going back to the pub as well, what a great view it has of Kelvingrove art gallery.

Have fun Ange, let us know what you think!

Their Punk IPA and Trashy Blonde are very nice. I haven't tried much else of their stuff, although from looking at their website to verify that I'm very interested in the Dead Pony Club because it would be another of the (very few) beers you can buy in their pub that isn't too strong for pub imbibing.

I was given Dead Pony Club because I asked for Trashy Blonde and they didn't have it on tap this week. Dead Pony Club is meant to be similar, and I think I actually preferred it to Trashy Blonde. I'd probably say that and Zeitgeist were my favourites, although there was another dark one called Libertine or something that was also very drinkable. It was slightly stronger, maybe around 9%, but you couldn't tell from drinking it.
Bik, the Brewdog smell is apparently because most of the beers use the same hop as the base, it's called Simple hops, and then other hops are used on top of that.
