Hello folks.

A few people are coming over to my place on Friday, and I think that it would be nice to have a bit of party Wii fun. In the past I've played Wii with these people doing stuff like Wii Sports, Mario Kart Wii, Mario and Sonic at the Olympics and so on and so forth (hell, we even played that Sonic one with the ring, and that's sh*te!).

A new game is required.

Recommend me something. I played Rayman's Raving Rabbids with Bobbyaro last weekend and that was fun, though it seemed to start off as one player only, and I want multiplayer... though it was extremely good fun.

Are there any good party style games for Wii that might work for me? The cheaper the better as well, of course. The nearby Zavvi has quite a few games, and there appears to be a ton of 'party sports', 'beach sports', 'mario party' kinda games. Tell me which don't suck!

Thank y'all.

Oh, and I have a 360 too, and saw that the 'Scene It!' game is only 25 quid, and includes four wireless controllers specifically for the game. That might be worth a pop, and is certainly in the right price range... but equally it might be of limites use (though possibly with a decent resale value).

Anyway, all help will be looked upon favourably, so thanks!

Carnival Games isn't bad - stuff you'd get at your average seaside including a Kentucky Derby, Basketball, throwing hoops on, er stuff. Should be pretty cheap too.

I considered that one as I'd heard good things, but it's 40 quid in Zavvi, and I need it by tomorrow, so no delivery place is going to get it to me in time.

Keep the suggestions coming, if you have 'em.

:)

TV Show King is good from a price point of view (1000 Wii points. What’s that? £7?) and has good production values. Buzz-lite, if you will. But it really wound me up how you couldn’t disguise which answers you were giving with the Wii Remotes.

That's interesting. I was just going to say it's a pretty safe bet you should avoid, this, the beach one, and playground one. I must confess I haven't played any of them, so perhaps I shouldn't pass judgement, just yet.

That Beach Party one that gets advertised on Sky Sports a lot looks awful. A lot of the stuff on Carnival Games could be classed as 'fun for five minutes' which is probably the idea anyway. You can 'win' crappy toys with your exploits and and if you have enough crappy toys, you can upgrade them for slightly less crappy toys.

Nope.

I only own Wii Sports, Mario Kart, Mario Galaxy (booooooring) and Pro Evo Soccer, and I briefly borrowed the Mario/Sonic one.

Warioware requires you to play through it first single player before it opens up the multiplayer options. Daft. Twats.

The Guitar Heroes should be a given, surely. More the second one - I found the third to have slightly more crap than the second.

This leads to you being much better at in than all of your not-played-it-before mates, so they don't want to play anymore.

Costs too much for a random friday purchase.

I may just have to wander through HMV/Zavvi during lunch and buy something on a whim.

OR, I might just nto buy anything and, like, talk to my friends instead.

I went to HMV and they had Rayman's Raving Rabbids 2, but it was 40 quid. I umm-ed and ahhh-ed for a bit before deciding that was too much. Ditto fro Boom Blox.

I then went to the Game, which is a little further away, and they had RRR2 for 25 quid! Woohoo! Purchased!

(...and Boom Blox for 20, too).

I suck at saving money.

Aye, that's a problem. Also having to explain the 'form baton' 'poses' to people that just don't get it spoils it a bit too.

It did get more fun the more we played -and improved.
