WTB's going to spend a lot of time photocopying and paginating.

Well done, document monkey.

ACTUALLY, wise-asses of BEEX! It's a very involved role with very little office monkey work, or so they say. They're also quite big on serious spinal personal injury and death cases. Can't wait!

So, my phone just rang. "We don't advertise the pay scales of jobs, internally, but I can tell you the pay would be lower than what you are currently on" he said. Which was in some way helpful.

You'll be slopping out the autopsy room then?

And of course they'd say that. They say that to trainees, too. And all trainees end up doing at least 6 months of photocopying and tedious document work as the partners had to do it when they were trainees, and they had to do it when they were trainees as their supervising partners back then had to do it when they were articled clerks and so on and if it was good enough for me it's good enough for you and it's a tradition you bloody communist etc. I made all my trainees empty my bins, too.

"If we're paying you bottom dollars, we're not trusting you with anything important" is the order of the day. Still, you'll get to totally boss that hole punch.

So we'll be seeing WTB as the face of one of these 'have you been injured at work' adverts.

In all seriousness, I'm sure it'll be great though, personal injury litigation is interesting and often entertaining stuff. Well done sir. :)

You'll get away with just trousers, shirt and tie. I'd have two suits max, just in case you need to go to a meeting with a client. Alternative is a tweed jacket that will go with all your trousers, and that also handily means you can wear it about town.

Make sure you keep all your receipts and try expensing it on your first matter.

There's never a wrong time for tweed. You're thinking of corduroy. Which is also awesome, as it happens

I look very smart in it. There's a photo here somewhere.

I wouldn't say fancy.

More semi-formal.

I missing having a car right now as I try to buy all the things one needs to live in an apartment.

I hauled three curtains, a pillow, and a curtain rod up from Sears on the subway.

Then I hauled (in four bags) a comforter, two sets of towels, cutlery, mugs, glasses, a frying pan and more back home on two buses from HomeSense. The second bus was very busy and TEENAGE BITCH PRINCESS was standing haughtily by the luggage area at the front, using it to support her cute little girl backpack. Poor Perkies with his four enormous bags was left with no choice but to struggle down the bus (with monthly pass held in teeth) to stand near the back in everyone's way with four fucking bags because TEENAGE BITCH PRINCESS couldn't possibly have sat down with her backpack on her lap like every other person on the bus.

Also, HomeSense doesn't seem to like selling things in sets. You want a plate? Buy them individually. You want a set of pots? Buy them individually. They then get wrapped in paper at the checkout. What? No. I want my plates to get home intact, thank you.

I think part of it is that I need all this stuff NOW, whereas if I wasn't rushed I could just order online and have it delivered. Hence I have to go get it and carry it home.
