Our local Mediamarkt is doing one of their "three games for 49 Euros" promotions (just under 39 quid). Assuming that I'm potentially interested in all types of games, is there any combination of three that I should be tempted by? Any suggestions appreciated - cheers in advance!

Assassin's Creed Revelations
Rage
Kinect Sports Season Two
Driver San Francisco (PS3)
Gears of War 3
Oblivion (Elder Scrolls IV)
Goldeneye Reloaded
Fallout New Vegas
Darkness 2
Reckoning
SSX
Ninja Gaiden 3 (PS3)

SSX had an excellent demo I thought. I'd also go for New Vegas if you haven't already played it - hours of fun. And then I dunno. Personally I'd go for Driver as people on here seemed to think it was great. I've got Gears 3 and I got bored of the campaign very quickly, but Horde is a laugh with five people.

Those reviews were quite snappy Jonno. You could do that for a living

Like ruppugs? Then you can't go wrang with Fallout and Oblivion. Also Reckoning, which I assume is Kingdoms of Amalur:Reckoning. AssCree:Rev really needs prior knowledge of teh seriz, so I wouldn't. Plus it's the wust one.

  • Goldeneye Reloaded: I really enjoyed the demo of this and it's on my 'to buy' list.
  • Fallout New Vegas: is excellent.
  • Gears of War 3: if you liked the other Gears of War games then presumably you'll like this.
  • Darkness 2: another demo I enjoyed and will pick up at some point.
  • Reckoning: Do you mean 'Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning'? If so then it's been very well received on the forum and I'm really looking forward to playing it so I'd definitely stick this on your list.

I'd take Oblivion, Gears and SSX out of that list.

Quick summary - thanks chaps, that's already been very helpful. At the moment it looks like it's going to be Oblivion, Fallout New Vegas and one other. I'd be more tempted by Driver if it was on the 360 as I don't get on with the PS3 controller at all, especially for driving games. Yep, the Reckoning one was that Amalur doodah. I have played previous Assassin's Creed games, hated the first one, loved Brotherhood, but never finished it as it seemed to go on forever. I haven't played any of the Gears games but was always tempted, so maybe I should pick up the first one cheap at a later date (I'm guessing Oblivion and New Vegas are going to be major time sinks on their own).

Oblivion and Fallout are similar in style, and both massive time sinks, you need a lot of time to enjoy them properly, so you might want to bear that in mind - of the two, I would choose Fallout.

I agree with Bobby. I know myp enjoyed Oblivion a few months ago, but they're both massive games and I just think Fallout is better. Ovlivion feels a little dated this far into the Xbox's life. Playing both might burn you out because they're so similar.

What Bobby and WTB said makes sense, so I might just have a look today what the standalone price for New Vegas is and just get that (we had a lot of fun with Fallout 3, so that should be a safe bet).

Thanks again for all the recommendations!
