Many of you may be thinking I am exaggerating this factor for humour purposes. Rest assured: time will prove me right.

Malia can bring his tent and we'll stick him down the bottom of the garden.

Poor Mali.

You'd think that'd work, but the poor soundproofing of a tent means you need a garden a mile long. Alternatively, we could install waves of baffles around the tent made from old mattresses.

It is a pretty big garden.

Why do I have to sleep in the tent?

What's happening about electronics this year? Are we Rock Banding? Should I be bringing my e-drums? Can anyone get a projector for en masse film watching? Is that a good idea?

I have a projector I can bring, but the issue will be what to project onto and how to get any sound to go along with it.

Also, Craster: have you secured a copy of Cards Against Humanity? Because that should happen, even if we have to print the bastards ourselves.

And are there any board games we should take that we don't currently have that I should buy so we could have them?

You'd probably ask Trooper to bring it on the downlow, not knowing that in the meantime his wife has booked it in for a SingStar session with the girls.

Not for under £100 so far. Looking into printing it. Could be a tedious exercise. It would let us weed out the ones about US 'celebrities' nobody's ever heard of though.

2) pay money

Surely?

Or tell me the best way to get sound and stuff, without me needing to take my current AV setup apart and bring loads of shit.
I have a projector that takes VGA, HDMI, composite and possible component. It might have a tinny speaker in it too, but I can't remember.

I have various laptops, ipads and iphones I can put shit onto to use as a source of stuff.

Before we get too excited, is there actually a plain white wall in a useable position in any of the communal areas? I just remember fucking awful wallpaper.

The best way in a compact situation is a diddy little monitor speaker, which despite it's size, throws out a fuckload of sound. I recommend the Fostex 6301D. Which I totally have like 12 of in my office right now. Like I said, shame.

Seriously though, PC speakers are the way to go. A reasonable 2.1 combined with a female stereo minijack to male twin phono should suit (assuming that the projector cam pass HDMI sound out through analogue).

Roger, I shall see what I have.

Screen wise, I assume there will be a white sheet there or something?

*sound of air whistling through teeth*

Sheets do not make good screens. The light tends to pass through, bounce off the wall and create a fuzzy double image. You need something with a small amount of reflective quality. A painted white wall is not perfect, but it's better than a sheet.

Lots of people who either said they were coming or who strongly hinted at such still haven't confirmed and paid. Given that the booking was based on the amount of interest shown, let's get some commitment, folks! The cottage is the best weekend of the year, you all know that - and we need to make sure Curio's not left high and dry with the funding or he's unlikely to put the effort in to organise it again.

It's brilliant value for a great weekend. So come on, confirm! And pay!

I highly doubt that would happen as any additional cost would just be spread amongst the people going. But agreed, that would also be shit. We just need people to cash with their ass, the cheques their mouth's are writing, or something like that.
