Fair play really, what's the point of being a royal if you don't get up to shit like that?

I'm no royalist, far from it (although I do like the Queen - better than 'President Bliar' at any rate).
But, at the risk of sounding like Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells, don't we pay the Royal Family to be like, ambassadors for this country?

Sure, but on the other hand, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.

He is on holiday, the rest of the time he is in the army.

I am sure worse has happened on rugby/football tours.

Out of all the Royals he has always seemed to be 'human'. Was he not out in Iraq until some papers disclosed that and he had to come back.

Just saying.

As Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells, I'd also rather like the media to have a bit of respect for people's privacy. But that's never going to happen. One might also argue one of the things people have wanted was for the royals to be a bit less opaque and a bit more like normal human beings, but incidents like this will simply further to remove Harry from his normal life (which is admittedly not exactly normal in the sense most of us would understand it nor experience, but it could be worse).

Is it a job any of them applied for, though? Maybe he doesn't want to be a clean-living, perfectly mannered ambassador for the country. Being forced to carry out a role/job because you were born into the position... Just seems wrong. I'm not going to liken it to slavery for the obvious reason that they have a much better, privileged lifestyle, but I think he should be allowed to be the young, obvious fun-loving person he is.

Don't give a flip about the royals, but he's just a young lad, and I hope he makes the most of the fun he might have.

I tend to agree, but it's naive to the point of lunacy to think that the media - most especially in this day and age - is going to have "respect" for anything or anyone, most especially any high profile public figure, as you rightly say. So, since this is a given, a modicum of common sense and decorum is surely required - that comes with the territory I'm afraid.

There's always the argument that the Royals don't have a choice as to whether or not they're in the public eye etc., but y'know. My heart ain't exactly bleeding, given all the incredible privileges that come as part of the package, at the British public's expense.

That's my biggest issue with all of this I guess; does it not occur to him that there's a trade off to be exercised here and that, in return for all that he has received and will receive, in stark contrast to the hapless average joe, he should at least make an effort not to drag the institution of which he's a key part of through the media ringer?

Um, wait just a minute there!
I've done far, far worse than this, many, many times. I am a *total* hedonist; the shit I've done over the years, especially when younger, would make your hair curl! However:

1. I'm not a key member of the Royal Family
2. Despite being a nobody in public profile terms, I still wouldn't be daft enough to allow myself to be photographed stark bollock naked (and pissed, hanging off some random bird over a billiards table).

I'm not bothered that he's done this stuff at all per se. I'm merely criticising the (gross) lack of discretion and sheer stupidity apparently involved?

Let's have a Republic. Fuck the spinelessness of royalists and their beloved parasitic racist inbred toffs. Let's have a democratically elected CEREMONIAL head of state who can be sacked by citizens if they do a crap job, and whose extended family won't be subsidised ad infinitum.

Who would bother to vote for a ceremonial position? It's hard enough to get people to vote in the real thing.

I've tried to address that one in my earlier post Meems. :)

I'm really not trying to be some old killjoy wanker; I have no problem with people doing stuff like this, having great fun, enjoying their youth, getting pissed, having sex parties, whatever. Really. (Although in this particular case, it does erk me, as a somewhat republican-minded person, that ultimately the likes of us are funding this stuff whether we like it or not)

But I know how this looks to the rest of the world, and it's that which I don't like.

Prison...? Yeah right.

You're entitled to your opinion Wullie, but suffice to say yours and my definition of 'prison' do not correlate.

I think advertising Britain as a nation with a penchant for naked billiards is something that should be encouraged.

He could always give up the money and palaces and fuck off and work at a Starbucks in Canada if he's that bothered by it.

:D

But, to be half serious for a second, surely people don't think Berlusconi and his alleged 'bunga bunga parties' et al set a good example for Italy to the rest of the world, do they? (On the other hand, if these antics were kept from the public eye, no-one would've given a toss, just as is the case here).

It's far from a perfect analogy I'll admit; Harry is a young guy, not some lascivious old goat, but still. The 'crime' is surely not the actual act(s) but being 'caught' and plastered all over the media? At least, that's how I see it.

Anyway, I'm fed up with painting myself into the 'boring old twat' corner, now, so I will bid you good evening. :D

I had to laugh at one of the comments that is saying he must have a small knob as he can cover that and his balls with his hands and nothing is “sticking out”

He can’t win, last time it was a Nazi uniform so he decides on no clothes this time and he is in the shit again :DD

He should have been a bit sharper here; he invited a load of girls up to the suite to party so this was bound to happen as almost everyone has a camera on their phones these days.

Generally, I would agree. However, as I stated earlier, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. That supersedes everything. Someone who sold those pictures, anyone who writes an article about it, should be marched off to labour camps to break rocks. Is nothing sacred?

That bit in the front of your passports, where it says "Mess with the bearer, and the Queen sends out the battleships"? That should be updated to include the consequences of breaching the sanctity of Vegas.

Met him last year, thought he was brilliant then, still think he's brilliant now.

Even though he was a high profile target, he still served for us in Iraq.

Party on, dude.

Looks like the major mistake he made was who he trusted. Looking at the photos it looks like they were taken by someone at the (private)party. Shame on them.
