This is fun. Stranglehold meets The Warriors meets GTA. Excellent face punchings.

Liking this lots. The fighting is excellent, but tough. I like the way it integrates leaderboards - I just found myself driving round the motorway to beat MarkG's 'safe driving' time. Trickier than it sounds.

Impossible to tell with new games, as the ratios are always artificially high.

If I just wanted to play easy maxes I'd buy Pixar tie-ins. :)

Blame the 'Bulge. He's doing an incredibly poor job of attempting to wind me up by talking nonsense about things he knows nothing about. Much like every other thread, then. :DD

I'll wait until this is sub-tenner prices (six months tops) and then I'll consider it.

Had a bit of a shock when I looked at my stats and I'm 30% through the storyline. I think this'll be fairly short in terms of main plot. Compared to what we're used to in open world games, I mean - not compared to FPS storylines.

I had the same slight shock when I got to 10% after a couple of hours (no idea what I'm on now), but all the reviews said it was fairly short. Hopefully it won't feel worse for it; most of the time spent in open world games seems to be travelling back and forth from one side of the map to the other anyway. The city in this doesn't feel overwhelmingly big, and travelling seems to be kept to a reasonable minimum.

Not seeing the missus tonight, so I made a purchase of this from Steam this morning before work. So - obligatory DirectX installing aside - it'll all be ready for me to dive into when I get home.

This is the only videogame I've genuinely looked forward to playing since Deus Ex: HR, so I should hopefully be in for an enjoyable evening.

Heh, true!

Well, last night taught me that my graphics card may well be on the way out since all the fans went mental on loading Sleeping Dogs and the PC ended up crashing hard. It wouldn't reboot at first either, and the first time it did, it loaded up with nothing on the display. Great.

However, I did eventually get it all working again and I ended up spending an hour or two on it in the end. It's pretty good from what I've played so far and the face-punchings really are excellent. The driving is a little ropey, but still quite fun. Certainly I'm enjoying it so far a lot more than I did GTA IV.
