Dawn is threatening to break over Gotham when Plissken the Mafia Goon steps up to LaceSensor and shoots him in the face. He's dead before he hits the ground. Curiosity the Mafia Investigator walks over, claps Plissken on the back and picks up LaceSensor's police badge. He examines it carefully.

"What do you know?" he says, "This shit was real all along." He throws the badge into a nearby dumpster and shrugs.

LaceSensor was a GCPD Cop.

And so the mafia outnumber the free town two to one. It's just a case of mopping up.

First the mafia walk to Arkham Asylum and calmly walk down the halls, shooting into every occupied cell.

Rodafowa the Town Doctor, Mimi a GCPD Cop and Mr Russ, Jeremiah Arkham himself, die in their cells.

Goddess Jasmine the final Arkham Guard reports to work, but is killed by a bullet to left temple as she walks through the front door.

The Mafia win. Congratulations.

Thanks to everyone for the game. It threatened to go completely off the rails early on and I know some people lost interest at that point, but we got it back on track in the end.

I was assuming we didn't have a doctor, when in fact I'd actually thrown him in the loony bin. Oopsie!

That's definitely the worst first night action, though Mr Russ releasing Curiosity is a very close second. Especially as it turned out to be his only release of the game.

MUWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAA!

Good game everyone. We had to work pretty hard for that, at times!

Muchos kudos to all my Mafia buddies, both dead and alive, though not to Craig, you dirty rat!

Well played Owen for running a good game.

In my defence, I wasn't counting on Arkham being locked up and no-one ever being able to be released.

...at which point the Mafia could not have won under any circumstances.

So, many thanks to LaceSensor for helping us out there.

Also thanks to Craster for detaining the town doctor, MrRuss for letting out the only Mafia member in Arkham, and Runcle for throwing Mr Russ in the loony bin so the Mafia essentially had a 'safe house'.

:)

Oh, and the night you took Gaywood to the asylum? He was roleblocking The Joker, who was targeting you, so if you hadn't have targeted him, he'd still have died at Azrael's hand, but Robin would have survived and The Joker wouldn't have learned you were the Batman.

That was cool.

Congrats to Owen for running a quite splendid game - well done!

Shame I couldn't do anything as the Commish, though, as I pulled in Dudley on the first night.

No wonder the increasingly heavy "I can't do anyone any good in here" hints I was dropping didn't help.

Between me and Jeremiah getting locked up on the first two nights and Azrael killing off our only investigate-y role, I'm starting to think that J. Jonah Jameson might have had a point regarding costumed vigilantes.

If I can mix mythos for a moment.

You mean idiot. I'm still struggling to see the thinking behind that, but I'm happy to offer LaceSensor honorary entry into the 'dead mafia club'.

It was very exciting for me, because I knew that if you came online in time the town would win the game. But then LaceSensor decided to end the game early.

Ah is that the night you mentioned in the dead thread you were having a devil of a time with night action precedence? :)

But... wait... it's not quite over yet!

Down in the Gotham sewers Joans sits on a ledge, happily munching on LaceSensor's left arm.

Joans is Killer Croc and had a secret win condition of "eating all the corpses that get thrown down into the sewers". Hooray!

I started to prepare a diary for the first three days, as I was quite excited to have a night action, and was Jeremiah Arkham

"Hoorah! I am Jeremiah Arkham. I can cure townspeople at will. But will I be curing a goodie or a baddie! Curiosity and Mimi are in my holding cells awaiting release. What to do?

Well I could start by releasing my army of terrible puns into the wild:

*opens rival butcher shop to Dudley*
Ark Ham is ready for business!
viewtopic.php?p=64684#p64684

I don't think there's an accompanying radio station to play in my store sadly! Arkh AM doesn't have the same ring to it as rodafowa's Goth AM.
viewtopic.php?p=64687#p64687

Runcle that's crazy talk, but it made me laugh heartily. I think I'll wait before putting my vote in based on coin flips just yet though!
viewtopic.php?p=64720#p64720

Day2

I was really stuck at who Pundy was trying to be until Craster said *he* could see it. At this point I think Craster is probably Batman. Runcle also backed him up, and it is clear that Pundy is the Emo teen trying to get recruited by Batman.

Puns:
I think I'm in a better position to judge who's been acting crazy
viewtopic.php?p=66012#p66012

I will probably release nobody tonight. then if mimi is innocent i can release her the next night, and then rodafowah afterwards.

Day3

Well, it doesn't matter that I was going to release nobody, as I was put in my own asylum!"

oh yeah, great game Rev, bit of a hiccup at the start but was pretty entertaining.
I was suprised how many days I lasted after my role-claim mind, also why no one alive suspected that the joker may already be in the asylum and trusted my word on that.

This was a really honest game. In the dead thread we were accusing people of lying and throwing around all manor of stupid ideas, but (I think) everyone that claimed to be anything was telling the truth (except Malc, but we'll let that one go).

After a couple of days in the asylum I started getting bored, and PM's the Rev each night with my night actions. One night I spent pressing every brick in my cell trying to find a loose brick. Another night I crept into Mimi and Rodafowa's cells for frottage and minimal cuddling.

Good game.
Will the dead thread be opened to everyone, please?

Couple of things - I think if this variant is used in the future, make it so the guy responsible for governing the asylum cant be incarcerated there.

Give the Batman some kinda killing ability.

Less cops, (2 max) and able to communicate with Commisioner Gordon.

Overall: Memorable in many ways.

I think either jeremiah shouldnt be able to be submitted into the asylum or either Dr Quinn gets jeremiahs night action.

After seeing the aftermath of the car chase in Batman begins, Batman most definitely kills.
