That's not my point, my point is that if people think a picture lifted from the Daily Mail website is inappropriate for their workplace, then I pretty much guarantee that the rest of BEEX is as well.

Text on a screen can't be seen from half way across an office. Chances of someone going into your traffic history and viewing the data? Very small. Chances of someone being able to see your browser window? Pretty high.

That may be the case, but the 'backend data' would be just as damning in either case.

If anyone thinks they're 'protecting their workplace internet use' by not having anything a bit dodgy on their screen when someone else in the office is looking in their general direction, they're well and truly deluding themselves.

I have no secret agenda here, I'm just suggesting that folks should have a think about what kind of scrutiny (if any.....) they'd like their 'work time' BEEX browsing and posting to come under, especially since forums helpfully timestamp every single post that everyone makes.

I think the rules are vague, I also think they're potentially hazardous to an employee's health.

Any images, videos or articles which you (or others) may deem to be NSFW, must be posted as a link offsite with a clear warning. Please do not use the spoiler tag, as even if you do not open them your browser may store it in its cache. Many of our members post during office hours, so this must be followed or you could be landing people in hot water with their boss!

Any individual post here could be considered an 'article', are you saying that Katy Perry's bottom is not OK but 100% of the posts here are OK?

Can I flag up the numerous posts that would fall foul of my workplace's internet use policy and insist they be edited/removed/flagged NSFW? The rules basically say 'anything that anyone may deem to be NSFW shouldn't be posted here', I guarantee a fair wedge of what gets posted here is going to be NSFW for a lot of folks' workplaces, people are getting too fixated on the pink pixels of Katy Perry's magnificent bottom and not looking at the broader context.

Stop being a twat in a ludicrous attempt to justify a photo of a naked arse not being NSFW, seriously.

Would it be NSFW if it was seen in its original context on the Daily Mail website?

You can call me a twat if it makes you feel better, but the rules read as 'don't post anything that anyone may consider to be NSFW', they don't differentiate between pictures and words.

You're being a picky argumentative twat for no good reason. Any halfway normal person would just say 'oh, sorry about that, I'll go change it to a link' rather than having a tedious fight about the minutiae of detail of work-appropriateness of bottoms.

What? Does looking at bare bums suddenly become acceptable at work if it comes from a news site like?

But I am a picky argumentative twat, anyone who knows me will tell you that.

And it's not just any bottom, it's an unusually splendid bottom.

Albeit one would never quite be able to put to the back of their mind the fact that Russell Brand had been there first.

At teens of the day, no workplace I have ever come across searches your browsing history for inappropriate words within text on the screen. People are very unlikely to read the tiny font thoroughly enough from a distance to take offence at Perkies writing about sex.

Every single workplace I have come across would consider looking at naked pictures to be inappropriate, and it would be very obvious from across the office.

It's kind of a running joke amongst me and my colleagues, we delight in pointing each other in the direction of the most 'Daily Mail-esque' articles.

There was one a few months ago which ticked just about every possible box, immigrant gypsies taking drugs whilst falsely claiming disability benefits, frantically shagging each other.

Which is the point. It's lovely, but work isn't for lovely nakedness. Unless your job is amazing.

Whether it's OK for the Mail is neither here nor there. I wouldn't stand for racist hatemongery at my job, either.

I'm fairly sure that a picture that people can see from across the room is somewhat more damning than your browsing history content if you happen to run the IT department.
Feel free to debate the rules all you like, but don't break them first.

It's quite simple. It's nudity. That's NSFW. Nothing else matters. None of the stuff anyone else has said makes a difference.

What fucking DavPaz said!

AE, the reason people think you're being a dick is this: if even one person thinks something could possibly be NSFW, it simply is. There's no arguing about it. Unless you're going to personally drive yourself to that person's work and argue the toss with their manager, that is. It's just NSFW. No arguing. It's just being nice. "Oh sorry, I'll remove it." That's it. No arguing. There is no argument that could possibly change it.

I didn't realise I was breaking the rules, it's not like it was a deliberate action to annoy people.

This is the same forum with 'The Grot, Grumble and Scud' thread remember.

That's why I don't partake of BEEX at work, as much as I might like to.

But some people do browse it at work. Whether you think that's a bad idea or not is entirely irrelevant. It's just NICE to accept that and respect it. Nothing more than that.

It's worth remembering that the Grot, grumble and scud thread is clearly marked as being NSFW so I imagine most people, like myself avoid looking in there during work hours just in case.

The Bits n Bobs threads should be considered safe enough to browse without getting caught out if someone's looking over your shoulder.

In the pub tonight with Mrs Metal's younger sister and her fiancee.

This is just before he hit 'collect' on the first fruit machine.

On the next, he won another £38.00.

Is he a 'regular player' or did he just get lucky?

A lot of the DOND games have 'something' on them, information that is exchanged for amounts in the thousands of pounds when the machines are new (and before they get critically rechipped).

Hope he spent the cash on a slap-up takeaway feast :D

(How much did he put in for the £80?)

EDIT - Maybe something on it...... Does Mrs Metal's younger sister's fiancé play regularly?.....

I was the first to bust out at poker last night, I'd forgotten what AN INCREDIBLY ANNOYING GAME IT IS when you just don't get the fucking cards.

I also got ridiculously beaten on one hand by one of the guys making a pair of Aces on the last card to come down when I had pocket Kings, so he'd basically been calling and raising with fucking nothing.

I eventually went all in on two pairs KK 33, to get beaten by a straight that came down on the last card.

The same bugger who bust me out went on to get a Royal Fucking Flush and he bust someone else out with that. I was shooting motherfuckers in the head on BF3 by then though, as catharsis for the travesty of the cards.

Indeed, my pocket kings finished up as just a pair of kings, he was calling and raising on ace high and got the pair of aces on the last card.

Mind you, I really don't know much about poker or strategy and what the odds are of any given event occurring, so I was relying more on abuse and goading over Teamspeak.

I tried to give the guy who landed the royal flush a bit of stick because I felt he played the hand very poorly in terms of what he could have extracted from the other players, and he tartly asked me to remind everyone how many chips I had left.

Zaphod: Thanks a lot, mate!

I think this tent ranks as one of the best purchases ever. We're now thinking "Dammit! Why is MaliA so cheap! We should have got the 5m one first off!". So we probably will. All of our friends were "That's amazeballs" when they saw it, and other people on the campsite came over to have a look. So, if you want to go camping, and have cool stuff, buy one.

We arrived about an hour and a half later than we should have done due to i) traffic ii) my refusal to drive through Wales iii) WTF is the M62 turning into the M60, then back into the M62 again or something. Stupid signs. We had the tent up in less time than MrsA and I took to argue about where to put it (and moved it the next day anyway). It chucked it down until 8pm, then it became clear so we sat about and drank beer and stuff. Next day I was in the pub at 11-45am, and then in another pub n hour later for ameal. Somone ate scallops which made them very ill, os they missed out on afternoon and evening fun. Then we went to bed. And got up the next morning and it began to rain so went home.

Thoughts:

2006 Discovery is quite comfortable to be a passenger in.
You can fit camping stuff in a Ford Ka.
Beer in Bishops Castle is well worth the visit.
I love my tent.

I might have got pissed last night and said "Oh, yeah, I'll ride the Coast to coast with you, no worries". In the cold light of the morning, it turns out that my friend wants to clock 110 miles on day one, ending up at his father's pub, before finishing off the remaining 30 miles the next day. I'm now looking at a road bike and wondering if I can go from 23 miles off road in 4 hours (and being knackered) to 110 miles in a day on the road. Road bikes seem to be about £650, and I'm allowing £100 for shoes and pedals. Shittyfuckingcocks. His friend did the whole thing in 14 hours.

Ah, our base for the Beer Festival (usually first weekend of July). Perfect camping location to get away from it all.

Should have said dude, that's almost literally down the road from me - it's about 10 miles away, and is a stonking drive out from Shrewsbury as well, fantastic road!

Did you go to the Three Tuns? Lovely beer in there.
