I have 4Tb of mainly TV shows in 720p format, during the summer I can have 20-30 shows being downloaded each week, at up to 2Gb each these days. That doesn't include the full series that I have missed and am downloading the whole lot. I should probably watch more TV than 4 episodes of the west wing a week, to be honest :D

Add to that the occasional film, streaming of video content onto my boxee, steam and work.

It's easy to hit 400Gb+ :D
Do you spend your entire life watching tv?

I'm the same. Due to fast internet, unlimited downloads and automation, I now have a hard drive full of stuff I haven't watched. We maybe have the time for 1 or 2 episodes of something a night before we fall asleep and sometimes a movie.

I watch probably an hour or two a night.

Why do I keep downloading new TV shows? I honestly have no idea :D

Strange, running fine here. Although I did install in on Lion and then upgrade to ML.

Okay, so I think I've got most stuff set up, but I didn't understand this bit of the instructions from http://www.sickbeard.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10:

Quote:
6. Go to the "categories" tab. Set the appropriate script as your postprocessing script for your TV shows.

sabToSickbeard.py - linux/OSX SABnzbd+

or

sabToSickbeard.exe - Windows SABnzbd+

My categories page looks like this:
Attachment:
SABnzbd 0.7.3.png

So, er..?

There should be a scripts option there too. Odd. Give me a minute.

Default, blank, blank. If you want to do any auto sorting of different types of downloads into different locations, you can fuck about with that later.

Ta!

Also, Sick Beard seems to be working and has found all my existing folders and shows me how many episodes I'm missing, etc.

I was lead to believe it would rename all my existing files, though. Is this FILTHY LIES, or have I missed a tick box somewhere?

[edit]Also, it doesn't seem to be adding missing stuff to the download thingamabob. I DECREE THIS RUBBISH! Until I get it working, obv.

Dunno - never tried to have it do anything clever with existing files. You might want to try hitting the 'manual post-processing' link and pointing it at the folder with your files in.

It sets missing episodes for a downloaded show to 'skipped' by default rather than 'wanted'. You can change that setting somewhere.

Go to Manage->Episode Status Management and you can bulk set skipped episodes to wanted by series.

Aha, it appears to be working.
Now to see what it does with a file when it has downloaded it.

Aha - you just click on the show name in your home screen and then click 'Rename Episodes'.

I've been downloading TV shows just because since I got off my arse getting this working. It's too easy.

My searches have come up with a few holes in some shows. So I've manually searched and found NZBs for a whole season at once, bypassing Sickbeard and doing it myself. Sickbeard still goes in, process and sorts them for me. Amaze.

nzbsrus.com or nzbmatrix.com are the ones I use. Have to pay to sign up, but it's a one-off. You can then add them to the search providers in sickbeard, improving the hit rate.

I fear this is going to make Vigin sad.

For reference, here is my usage before all this started:
router wrote:
Session Time 18days 0h:4m:27s
Session Data Downloaded 39579GB 151MB
Session Data Uploaded 24GB 0Bytes

I've reset it now - let's see what it is in seven days.

If the number at the top of the Sabnzbd home sceen is accurate, then not even close - it's only doing 1.5MB/s.

Yes, but I think Virgin are being mean. I switched to SSL on a different port and it's up to 6.1MB/s now. I'm installing the Accelerator, too - see if that makes a difference.

So, are you guys the downloading equivalent of TheVision? How the fuck can you watch 39TB (not Tb, WTB) in 18 days? Do you just stick all this on your virtual shelf, never to be watched?

Virgin shape NG traffic, before I got Infinity I used to have a laptop in my mates house and used his Virgin 100MB on a weekend.

The speed bounced about all over the place, the best result I got (using Astraweb) was port 8080 which maxed it out, after a while this setting woudn't even work.

Quote:
39TB in 18 days?

What sort of speed are you on? I get 7.6mbps from my Infinity and can get 30GB an hour so 720GB per day, I would need 3 times this speend to get 39TB in 18 days!

Also what do you store it on? :o I have spent a bomb on NAS storage and I couldn't store 39TB, maybe 80% of that :DD
