You know I never thought about doing that! :) I have a drill, I'm afraid I don't know what a pin device is...

A pin vice is a small hand held drillingybob.

About £6-8 for one with various sized drill bits. Very handy in our line of work. :)

Quite. What with it being a drill, not a vice.

If you're in a tiny jail, you can use it to formulate a drillingybob escape plan.

Right, how do i take halfway decent photos of minis? Last night I did a couple of mechs and an old GW explorer which i'm really chuffed with (as I haven't done any painting in ages), but all the photos look rubbish and do no justice to my ninja brushwork.

Bring them round to Castle Mimi, bring wine. I have camera and skillz, but no wine.

It's really easy. Buy a DSLR camera for around £350 and a Tamron 90mm macro lens for £280. Set of positional lights with day light bulbs and a lightbox is handy too (£200).

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
It's all about the lighting, daylight is best. I try and light my minis from the front and above to the left or right (whichever casts the best shadow to bring out detail). The plainer the background the better too.

You've done a good job on the Wasp, but I don't think it's a terribly interesting model, which is a shame. The rifle dude is superb. He deserves a decorated base though.

Yeah, well, Battletech models are shite. The Stinger is a bit better in pose - but he's got a wee IG guy in front of him on a hex base, and some rocks, just to make it more interesting. Wooo. I'll do the same with the Wasp.

He'll get one. Possibly a dog, too.

Just spotted and snapped up a Dragon Ogre on eBay. Always wanted to paint one of them back in the day.

£7.50 delivered and it's still in the blister pack. :metul:

I haven't based him yet. I got distracted by painting an old GW dragon - will post some WIP later.

Large models are very, very different to figures.

The Lord of Change I won is incomplete. Why didn't I notice that on the picture when I was bidding. It's his bloody wings too, not like it was a small part. :belm:

I'll hunt some down on eBay.

Places reporting a $107 price tag to include the above chaos models, some imperial scum, rulebook, measures, dice.

I'd be tempted to sell it on, but I do fancy making and painting it.

I've got an excess of old school pink horrors though. I can dig them out and take some photies if you're interested.

It's alright, there'll be a pair turn up on eBay I'm sure.

It's not like I don't have a stupidly large amount of other stuff to be getting on with.

No, it'll be the new starter pack for the sixth edition. Like Assault on Black Reach was for fifth.
