We stayed at Hotel Du Vin in Harrogate for Mrs Bulge's birthday a couple of years ago. It was fantastic. Expensive, but definitely worth it. The food (and the wine) was wonderful. And the next day we went to Betty's which was also great. Highly recommended!

We're currently still going to Harrogate next weekend but she's now unenthusiastic after being promoted here. Despite it being the people she wanted to get away from. no idea what hotel but it's not cheap.

I think I'm more geared towards picnics in nice parks and walks around museums and galleries, little book stores and quaint markets than find dining. Does it have those things, too? I like little independent shops and walking around old buildings.

Yesterday, we went to Bradford to go and see a film. In the city centre there was big party thing going on, with a music stage, fairground rides and all sorts. People were running through the fountains and everyone was having an awesome time. We also went to the National Media Museum which is brilliant. There was a history f computers and the internet display, and how TV works and stuff like that. On the thrid floor, there was the history of computer games, which you could play on, too. From Pong to XBox Kinect via Manic Miner, Sonic and Goldeneye. There were the coin-op machines, too. SO I played on Gauntlet, Galaxians and Defender. It was awesome pro. We saw the Dark Knight Rises at the IMAX, which was also good, and the screen if HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!. Here's a picture of my friend and I outwitting a Dalek:

Oh yeah, it has all of that! Although I'm not so sure about the markets. It definitely has its fair share of quaint shops. Although I'd have to recommend York above Harrogate in that area!

It's a bit too wealthy to be quaint, per se, but it's pretty much all old buildings, and there's some nice park to walk around. In fact, it's a very grassy town.

I've only ever been there for conferences, it looked ok driving in and out, though.

We had one shitty rumble of thunder. Not seen a proper good storm for ages.

It passed pretty quickly, but the heavy hail hasn't half made the place wet!

We had a bit of thunder, and a fuckload of rain yesterday. But the clear blue skies followed, so that was nice. Today is mega cloudy, but warm enough to sit with the patio doors open, while I laze the absolute fuck out of this fine Sunday.

Earlier today, I hooked up my iPhone to my Speccy and then my Speccy to the TV I'm selling on eBay, and used "Speccy Tape" on the App Store to play Chase HQ:

How does that work then?

That is really cool

The app Speccy Tape takes a TZX file (or TAP, I think) and basically converts it into an audio file that it then plays out via the iPhone, as if it were music.

So you plug the iPhone into the Speccy, type LOAD "" into it and press Enter, then start the "tape" - the audio goes down to the Speccy and it starts loading as if it was from a normal cassette.

Of course, this means that it takes fucking ages to actually load anything, so in terms of convenience you're better off with an emulator, but it's bloody cool to see those Speccy loading bars on the screen again.

Her desire for them is insatiable and if she could think about nothing else forever, she'd be a very happy lady. Anyway, read her blog. Let people into this sort of thing know about it. Maybe even buy yourself a Troll bead and a thirty quid bit of official Trollbead string to dangle it off. It's your life.

Fanny's Ale House pub is about a 12 minute walk from where I live. After dropping MrsA and chums off at the pub, I took the car home and walked back there. It began to rain. Luckily, I arrived looking none the worse for the elements, being half dry and half wet:

Stayed up far too late last night. Feel really tired now. overslept and missed space. MRSADFACE

Mensch is standing down as an MP, apparently.

MrsA copied the contents of a dvd on to her laptop. After this, chrome stopped working. Windows virus checker threw up 6 viruses, which I then cleaned off using it. How worried should I be? i was going to system restore it and then run malware bites. That should do it, no? I'm also taping up the dvd drive and removing admin priviliges.

A film DVD? Or just a blank DVD someone had put some files on? If it's the former then you must be picking up viruses that were already there as there's no way in hell a video DVD comes with viruses embedded on it. If it's the latter then it's a "how long is a piece of string" question because none of us have any way of knowing what was on the custom disc.

It was a dvd of ebooks. I'll do a system restore, then.

That'll teach her for being a dirty pirate.
