Man, the internet is great. Someone can mention their son's band, and 30 secs later I can be listening to one of their songs.

Groupies - a few. ;)

Sam says noooooooo, they are awful (the youtube stuff, not the band). They have started laying some tracks down in a studio now, I'll post in the metal thread when they are available. :)

So happy to get rid of the ugly chintz curtains from the bedroom which were the only thing I didn't like about our place.

Made them with a lovely piece of pure linen and with a blackout lining. Feel like home is finally complete, now only fun things are needed, not things through necessity.

It must be terrible being Mrs Zardoz, having some tall lanky guy come round every day to wipe himself off on Zardoz.

Dear Valued Customer,

I'm sorry to hear that you're not completely satisfied with your Zardoz. For sanitary reasons I'm afraid that once your Zardoz has been used, it is company policy that we cannot accept any returns or exchanges. There are a number of troubleshooting steps that may help you fix the problem with your Zardoz:

1) Slap him upside the head
2) Slap him upside the head again
3) Put his head down the toilet bowl and flush it

Hopefully these steps will address the issue you've been experiencing with your Zardoz. If you decide your Zardoz is unfortunately unrecoverable, we hope you will consider using us to provide a replacement.

Have a wonderful day.

Got the job :)

Can finally get out of here. So I’ll be the lead web designer/developer again instead of a small cog. And for a company that’s decent with a goal I don’t morally disagree with.

Another £3k, so £5k up since last month, and £10k total for the year. Can’t complain. Plus more holidays, a bonus scheme and flexitime.

"Dave?"

"Yeah?"

"That guy's on the blower again, he's after the BX2s."

"Christ. What's he saying?"

"He's babbling some shit, what should I do?"

"Fucking hell, can't you just direct him to the online order form?"

"He's adamant that he wants to buy on the phone right now."

Actually, the men thought I was awesome and commented on my fine musical taste based on the compilation CD I took with me to test various sets of speakers.

One of the men looked like Phil Spector crossed with Spit the dog. He was the leader.

You won't have heard of them. :attitude:

ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
Er, from the top of my head:
Air - All I need
Orbital - Kein Trink Wasser
The Cure - A Forrest (Mixed up version)
Radiohead - Jigsaw Falling into Place
Booka Shade - Mandarine Girl
Orbital - Halcyon

All chosen as tracks I know really well and cover plenty of different speeds, tones.

Congratulations of the new job Malabelm

As for myself my presentation to the bigwigs went very well and the biggest wig basically said “Yes, do those things you said” so it looks (fingers crossed) that after my initial three months is over then I’ll be coming back for 6 to 12 months and this will also involve being at home for at least a month while visas and what not are sorted (and back to my beloved couch and Xbox).

Afterwards there was a slight sense of Nay as I was prepared to get a bottom kicking going into the session (always better to hope for the best but plan for the worst) as I would have been perfectly happy with being told to bugger off back home where I could have made a nest on my sofa and spent the next two weeks watching the Olympics before looking for another job…I’m not sure this is the healthiest attitude to work….but bugger it I’m too old to change now.
