I am off on my hols from Birmingham Airport Next week.

There are a few parking options

Airpark £49.99 - offsite bus in, give keys and they park it.
NEC £69.99 - On site walking to the terminal.

Has anyone had experience with off site parking. Tad worried about leaving my keys with someone and have heard horror stories.

I've used the AirPark, not long after they were on Watchdog. It was fine, but I did check the car very carefully when I picked it up, just to be sure. Of course, just after they've been on Watchdog is a good time to use them!

I can also recommend the Ibis if you're staying overnight. It's a two minute walk from the terminal and it was both comfortable and cheap.

I got a good deal through Holiday Extras, booked via Quidco for an extra 10% off. Many, many resellers use Holiday Extras anyway, so their prices are generally the same you'll see from most other sites.

I've used off-site loads, its always been great for me but then, I've never used it in Birmingham.

Best thing is when you get back, you just call the company you left it with and they come and get you and have your car

ready for you when you turn up at their depot.

Good experiences from me.

I was never a fan of parking at Brum. Some of the 'On-Site' car parks are a long way away. Once took over an hour to get to the terminal (it took fewer time to drive from Worcester).

Previous experience (in That London, before I lived here) suggests that the nearby hotels are preferable.

Personally i would pay the extra £20 and park my car myself.

It might be worth checking out the advance prices for short term parking as it is usually very close to departures and surprisingly cheap if you book in advance. When I was travelling every week to Germany, I always used to use short-term parking as when you booked in advance it was only around a tenner more than the long stay bus in parks.

I've used the "give them your keys and hop on the bus" a couple of times. Was fine.

Used 'Offsite' at Cardiff, Brizzle and 'Eafrow. No problems.

Used the 'Drive to the departures door and give a man my keys' thing last week at Heathrow. MBW or something was the company name. Anyway, they were ace.

If you're not too far away it may be worth getting quotes for taxis there and back to see how that compares.

Ah. If it was just cases I'd train it. With kids and cases... probably not.

I'd get an return airport taxi booked. Similar distance as when I've flown from Madchester/Liverpool. Mind you I've had to do that due to travelling with 3 or 4 cases and push chair(s). That's a little more though at £80ish.

Plus way you can start drinking immediately and get wasted on the plane coming home.
