Hi guys,
Could anyone help a hapless old buffoon out with this simple problem?
A friend of Mrs Caveman owns a small salon with flush ceiling mounted speakers (only really cheapo stuff for background music). She has a main room for the salon plus a small consulting room which has an independent array of speakers.
Basically, what she wants to do is use an iPod or iPhone to pipe music into each speaker array. Very cheaply. Ideally then, she would have a combined 2-unit iPod/iPhone charging dock with two sets of phono output leads into a low power, el cheapo 2-channel amplifier. (In reality, I suspect there will be 2 separate chargers/iPhones/phono outputs?
I realise that iPod/iPhone to phono adapters are out there, but they obviously need to ensure the phone is kept on charge as well. I'm wary of using the headphone output, though that is a possibility I guess?
In terms of amplifier power, bugger all is needed (and actually, a mono amp would be fine) - 10-15W RMS would do it.
Do any of you clever geezers and gals know of an el cheapo Maplins/Amazon/RS Components/Richer Sounds type solution please?
Does need to be cheap 'n cheerful, not looking to win any audiophile awards here as the speakers aren't all that, to say the least!
TIA
Cavey
