There is a Travelodge right on St Mary Street (the main party street WOOOO!) and a Holiday Inn at the top of Westgate Street (the next street over). After dropping Pete off yesterday we observed just how many hotels Cardiff has now.

Not sure about what parking some of them offer, though. My parents tend to stay in the Hilton (which has parking), and before that at the Mercure which is a bit further out of the city centre (about a ten minute walk) on Newport Road.
