I think I'll just go round handing out "Hello, My Name Is..." badges.

It's an absolutely fascinating day for me to watch. Very interesting indeed. And slightly baffling. I still don't understand how everyone seems to have forgotten that Batman could have been roleblocked last night.

Oh, so that was actually a badly thought out fake role-claim?
I think if he doesn't cough up the info he got last night, then he's in for a lynching.

So, things are getting interesting. Dudley's called out his mafia suspects. Runcle's called out his mafia suspects. Shock, horror, they're both in each others set of suspects.
If Dudley's right, then the mafia are idiots block-voting for "confirmed" townies.
If Runcle's right, then the mafia have got photoshopping evidence to add to their list of crimes (probably with a dodgy copy of photoshop as well).
Possibly they're both right for a couple of them, or maybe they're both completely wrong.

*Bonus fun speculation*
Dudley and Runcle are both mafia and are fucking with everyones heads.

I've just sent out a couple of warnings to a couple of chaps who haven't been posting.

I really don't want to be the first person to mod kill someone in one of these games, but if they don't start posting I think I'm going to have to.

Veg is going to buy it tonight - he's being too cool-headed, the mafia will off him.

Pundy for Emo Boy? Hmm. I've not read the whole thread yet, but his "it's all so unfair" post screams of emo teen. It could backfire, of course - even if he gets recruited by Batman, he can be offed the next night anyway.

runcle wrote:

Interesting. Somebody has investigated Pundy and is sticking their head up to quietly hint about it, methinks.

Yesterday - as in actual yesterday, the first part of day two in the game - was fucking great, but the last couple of pages have made me want to die. Jesus, win conditions are the greyest of grey areas so the Emo Teen would not killed unless, I dunno, he... he... actually I find it hard to think of a situation where he would be mod killed, unless he somehow knowingly organised the downfall of the mafia.

Another post, another roleclaim. I guess this is why you should have a few vanilla townies, so everyone can just claim to be one of those.

Wait, now what's happening? I'm sure it was locked and now it isn't.
And Dud's vote count has missed out the Arkham inhabitants (or included them, if you like).
Who am I even talking to?

Edit - Awesome, Dudley's coming to rant, at least I'll have somebody to talk to (or be ranted at by).
Also can everyone stop posting. It's over, wait for it to be locked.

I'd imagine because we all think he can't, the rules thread implied he couldn't. You'd better put that in the thread, I'm willing to bet almost everyone thinks he can't.

Which is why it remains a bloody stupid role, probably the one and only thing you've got wrong because otherwise these rules are perfect.

Well, I've only got so much to add apart from reserving a special corner of hell for at least 6 of the sheep who didn't believe me.

I believed Malc utterly right up until that lynch vote that makes no sense whatsoever in context and looks like it was designed to stop me investigating. At least THAT someone else spotted.

The rest, I played a completely honest game. This apparently was a mistake.

I still think Runcle and Zardoz are scum, If pundy is the emo kid (which you appear to have all but admitted to) then frankly I do NOT like how he's played, I still think it's modkillworthy.

Why, what's wrong with it? Just having a lot of room to play with in a role doesn't make it bad, in my humble opinion.

It simply doesn't work. It's not how people would behave, it's stupidly wooly (especially if it apparently allows pundy's actions), as read it stifles conversation, as played it ruins it for people who were actually playing to the rules.

There's nothing wrong with a person trying to ally themselves with a better win condition imo.

Still, other than that rule snafu, the entire rest appears to have been absolutely 100% spot on, which for a new ruleset from a standing start is a stupendous achievement of yours. Well done :D

Did you mean role or rule?

And the "play to current win condition" thing has always been a rule, I think, just it's been unspoken until now. If Pundy is the Emo Teen, I don't think he violated that condition, anyway.

Ah sorry, I meant rule. And I think he did, he was trying to betray the mafia.

The play to win condition has been a rule, the word "Current" is new and incredibly vital.

I really don't see that.

I don't see a difference. You only ever have one win condition at a time.

No, you have a win condition and a potential other win condition. The implication is that previously you could try and get yourself a switch, now you can't but as written it largely bans "opening your mouth".

I've always strongly disagreed with the "play to be recruited" thing that people sometimes do. It's completely against the spirit of the game.

I really don't think it is, it's not called "MafiaFluffyCakes".

Anyway, more importantly, from the rules thread.

Craster wrote:

And that's the last word. Since there's no notification of change I think everyone assumes exactly what I did, batman is unblockable.

Last line of the first post in the rules thread. I can't see any indication from the mafia/gordon/cops roles that they can't roleblock Batman.

Er, no.

Look further down or further up. A later post has an updated list of night actions, as does THE ACTUAL RULES POST.

Quote:
What order do night events occur in?

Mafia Roleblock -> Gordon Roleblock ->Batman -> Mafia Investigate -> Catwoman -> Protect -> Kills -> Asylum break -> Asylum release -> Witness Protection -> Dr. Quinzel

Gordon and the mafia can roleblock Batman, if they pick him as a target. However, if either of them are picked as a target by Batman and they have not picked him, they will be taken to Arkham and their roleblock will fail.

And the post with the updated night actions in comes later, after the post you quoted.

The rules post always, always has the latest rules in it.

Ah, anyway, thanks for the kind words about the game.

I'm awfully fond of this tendency for people to claim more neutral roles to try and survive by striking bargains with the town. Of course, in your case the role claim was true and didn't work, but never mind. A bit unfortunate I thought.

Well if Malc's is true, it's a slightly risky but very very clever way to play the Penguin role.

It's a stupid way to play any other role because it only requires him to get 1 wrong to find out.

I'll be interested in how tomorrow goes, Pundy won't be Azkaban, Runcle will be bricking himself, Malc's dropped himself in the poo with that last vote on me....

Who will they lynch.

Ah good now I get to ask Malc what the fuck he was playing at with that last comment.

Malc, if you hadn't lynched me, you might have survived the night when I got murdeded.

Still with us gone, plus a guard, the town is fucked. Well done losers!

This WILL be interesting, Runcle and Pundy seem the most obviously doomed. Pundy is not in Arkham, which means.... well nothing really, as I told Craster 8 billion times...
