Hello all,

The lovely Mrs Squirt has been on a bit of a diet recently, but she's now approaching her goal, and as a treat she wants to go out and have a slap up nosh and scoff down some of the stuff she hasn't been able to have for a while. Her current plan is steak - she's been looking at the Hawksmoor menu, but I thought I'd ask the Hive Mind if there's anything in the same vein that is recommended. London ideally, although somewhere else in the South East at stretch, and a good cocktail list would be a bonus.

Many thanks all!

The Hawksmoor is fantastic for steak (less so for cocktails). As I live 125 miles away, I'll stop my advice there :)

Hawksmoor trumps all for London steak, IMO.

Yes. Unparallelled.

Disagree! As long as you like your cocktails old-fashioned and boozy rather than new-fangled and fruity

Squirt, the Hawksmoor is the obvious choice.

The closest second place to the Hawksmoor would be Santa Maria del Sur, in Battersea - if you prefer your steak Argentinian.

Yeah, the food in the Hawksmoor was, putting it mildly, rather nice.

Splendid, I shall pass on the comments! Thanks all. Also, looking at the Hawksmoor menu it's not bank-breakingly expensive - clearly not a everyday place, but I won't be forced to sell a kidney or mug old ladies to get a decent meal. Huzzah for steak!

Oh, awesome. I didn't clock the cocktail menu last time I was in there, then. I am now looking forward to my forthcoming visit even more.
