I've been looking out for a cheap copy of Michigan: Report from Hell to replace the one I sold, but I don't think this counts as cheap. 8)

Nothing like that much - I sold mine while it was still easy to get hold of. When I decided to give to give the game another chance, I found out that it's become a little rare, although a normal price is more like £30+

I don't understand why my home-made hot sauces suddenly get ridiculously hot two or three weeks after opening them. Evaporation of water and vinegar doesn't cover it, I think. It's annoying - I want to be able to judge a sauce while making it but random escalation post-bottling prevents it.

It's horrible here. The wind howled and blew from the early hours (causing my 'omg the roof is going to be torn off' irrational fear to engage) and when I went out for lunch there is debris strewn everywhere. Posters have been ripped from billboards and I think a wall or chimney or something in the town centre collapsed.

Not a good day to be out, the planned trip to Brizzle this evening has been cancelled.

I have come to the realisation, that all virtual controls are utter shit and it's not worth even trying games that need any sort of fine control or reaction based gaming anymore.

That Outrun clone has a nice tilt control and since your car stays in the middle the accelerate and brake don't get in the way.

I've got it, tilt controls are worse than virtual buttons.

I wouldn't chance it. Cheese and bread? Fungal/bacteria city.

Besides that, the meat on it (which was so rare that it hadn't even been born yet) would now have been born and would be grazing on the lettuce in the stayfresh drawer.

3 days is pushing it.

Real men eat leftover takeaways for breakfast.

Had to sacrifice the leftover pizza for a couple of scotch eggs last night.

On a similar note, isn't rice meant to be quite bad to leave for a day because there's loads of surface area for bacteria to grow or something?

It was a Terence Trent Derby.

3 days? Fucksake, stop worrying*. If it's takeaway it's not real bread or cheese anyway.

Though I'd probably reheat it in the oven because congealed pizza cheese and dried out cardboard base are nasty.

* Also your mileage may vary, don't blame me - whenever we have chinese takeaway I end up eating reheated rice and prawns for at least two days after without issue, and that's supposed to kill everything but cockroaches.

Imagine in the olden days without the little dates stamped on everything, you'd eat it until it tasted wrong.

Didn't do them any harm.

Two reasons why rice is nasty for bacterial growth. One is the one you stated, the other is that it takes a really long time to cool down. That means it stays for longer in the temperature band that is most conducive to bacterial replication.

Ideally, anything you're intending to store in the fridge should be cooled down to fridge temperature as quickly as possible - stick it in a bowl and float it in a sink with cold water and ice blocks in.
