If say a guinea pig chews some cat 5e cable that runs under your carpet around your living room.

Which cables within the CAT5 can be broken before the cable is useless?

So far white and brown seem to be broken, but I can still access my NAS, will check the xbox later

Are CAT 5 easy to fix if I have to cut it?

The green and orange pairs are used, the others are not. And yes it's easy to fix if you have a cat-5 crimping tool.

The brown wire is used to transmit anal porn, the white for anything in Helvetica.

Replace the CAT5E with A CAT and all your guinea-pig related problems will vanish.

Do NOT replace the CAT5E with a GOAT5E as your arsehole will be very sore indeed.

cat6 has a narrower temperature range AND requires wider bend radii. It's pointless. Unless you get external grade for free, like I did.

That's true for 100 meg ethernet, but gigabit links use all four pairs.

Your mum requires wider bend radii.
