Not if you kill Parthanux? Does it still work if you wait til he sleeps? :S

That's a bit annoying really. You can't do the Blades shit if you don't, but if you do the GB's hate you.

I've just finished up the Dark Brotherhood stuff, which was fun. Before completing it I did a quick run to destroy the Dark Brotherhood, which was laughably easy. Much better to do the quests though.

I think the only thing I have left to do is do a shitload of annoying mini-jobs for the theives guild to restore their reputation in every hold, and then it's pretty much nothing but radiance quests and the Civil War line to complete.

Yeah something silly like 50 missions + the specials missions for the thieves. Only do one special quest thus far and I'm bored.

Fucking game.

Another fucked quest here - get the word wall word from hag's end. Set by the greybeard. Get to the word wall, no fucking word. Can't finish quest, can't get next word wall quest from greybeards.

Ah, apparently 235 hours and 30 achievements into this I'm to start a new game. Whereupon it may happen again. Bethesda were 'looking into this' in February. The next patch out still won't solve it, and the bug was first being shown in youtube videos last November.

I'm tempted to trade this in and wait for the game to be £10 on steam, then get it for PC so I can sort this shit out for myself.

Better still, why is there no console for the XBox version?

Sorry to hear that, Gov. I'm getting a bit bored with it now. Very samey, maybe I just need a break from it.

In a gaming lull generally at the moment though.

I'm thinking I need to spend an hour or two checking what I've done and not, and what's worth struggling on with this save for. I'd like to 100% the thing. Just not today.

Just enchanted a four-piece set of "reduce destruction magicka cost 25%". These stack, so destruction spells are now free!

finished all main quest. only have to find deadric things, clear 50 dungeons and find the bloody dragon shouts.

Main problem is that none of the greybeards will tell me where the shouts are? i've not killed the pantyflax yet either so don't understand why. who would normally give me direction to them via what dialog?

duel enchantments rock too

I've pretty much drained the marrow from this game now. All major lines complete, perhaps just a few minor quests lingering due to not having spoken to certain people in certain towns, and the rest is just repetitive radiances.

With that in mind I've used the console to unlock all perks simultaneously and generally have a bit of a fuck around. Tried over the weekend to see how much I could max smithing with enchantments to get the highest stat gear possible.

Assuming level 100 enchantment, and all perks, I then necked an enchanters elixir (+50%), and enchanted whatever bits of my armour would allow Fortify Smithing, along with a necklace and ring. Also enchanted my weapon with the notched pickaxe buff in case that makes a difference. What I got was 45% buff to smithing from each piece.

Then I went to a forge with all this gear on, necked a blacksmith's elixir, and improved all weapons and armour to silly levels. I think this is the absolute max way of doing it, unless anyone knows better.

I maxed my enchanting and made 1 ring and 1 necklace with +25% smiting and also placed it one some armour... I thought my armor was good but I still managed to get an additional improvement on my each piece of dragon scale of +20.

I've still got Mehrunes Razor and I think it's now improved to have a damage of 79 from a base of about 12 if I recall.

Looked briefly at mods but there are far too many to choose from and I think my interest is pretty exausted at this point.

Also the decapitation bits are horrid and awesome! Had like 3 in a row.

Also the Grey beards are still being shit.

I have Mehrunes Razor handle* bit but nothing else. I found it on a dead guy the dragon killed.

Quote:
Fully knowing that you can’t get enough of your favorite dragon shouts, we’re pleased to announce that Kinect for Xbox 360  support is coming to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Available for free as a title update slated for release this month, Skyrim Kinect for Xbox 360 Support will feature more than 200 Voice Commands… including the game’s dragon shouts.

In addition to Dragon Shouts, the Kinect for Xbox 360 integration offers voice commands throughout the game including Hotkey Equipping, Follower Commands, and all Menus (Items, Magic, Map, Barter, Container, Favorites, and Skills). With Voice Commands, quickly create and load saves during gameplay and access menus and inventories. Skyrim’s Kinect for Xbox 360 Support also adds new functionality including special map functions, additional hotkey options, and the ability to sort inventory items by name, weight, and value.

...

A full list of Voice Commands will be revealed in the coming weeks, and we’ve got more Skyrim news coming. Bethesda Game Studios has been hard at work on creating the first set of game add-ons that will be exclusive to the Xbox 360. This additional content will add new quests, locations, features, and much more to the world of Skyrim. Stay tuned for more details.

Voice could help with Skyrim's a-lot-for-a-pad UI.

Inspired by the VG Cats today, I'm tempted to make a crazed axe-wielding Viking berserker type with an enormous beard. Any thoughts on a good name for him? Something suitable like Arve Deathbeard or Borgvald Smitebeard.

EDIT: Borgvald Smitebeard lives! Borgvald is a combination of two names, which mean 'to help/rescue' and 'might/power/to rule'.

Can't be arsed mopping up the rest of this now the main quest is over. Think I'll leave it until the DLC is out (if it looks decent, obv).

I've gone done completed all the Cheevo's (gamescore) for this. One of the few games I've done this with. Excellent. Right on to the next game... perhaps I can be a little more polygamous with the next one.

I really am struggling to find the inclination to carry on with this - it's basically just Oblivion with nicer graphics, and I poured absolutely hours and hours into that.

Zardoz is right in that once you complete the main quest, motivation to continue drops off a cliff. I'm done with it now. Worth £35 though, no question.

Could never get enough of this game. Completed the main quest and then spent another 50 hours in it. Interest certainly doesn't disappear as some claim. I'll be consuming the DLC like a cock hungry whore.

My motivation has waned a bit, although I did play it the other day and enjoyed it at the time. It lasted longer than Fallout but much less than Oblivion for me. The combat has grown dull -- I can stamp on anyone's face, but I don't want to start over because there's still many perks I want to explore.

I think I might suspend play and wait for a cheap deal on the PC version plus DLC in a year or so, then transfer my save over and pick up where I left off.

I'm in charge of the Companions now. And no longer a werewolf. I totally decapitated a ghost, as well. Which was epic. it's all good fun so far, with my 66 hours in, it is jsut finding the time to play it.
