Right, what was this TV show? Or shows?

Back in the nineties, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air used to be on BBC2 on week nights, right? About 6/6:30PM? What was the show that immediately followed it?

Now, this is where my memory is sketchy, but it was either on BBC2 immediately after The Fresh Prince, or it was Channel 4 immediately after. It was a weird show. I think it was quite bitty and had short cartoons on it, or there was more than one short show. I was probably around 10 or 11 years old at the time and it was clearly aimed at a generation (or two) above me.

I vividly recall - every time I remember seeing it, I think - a short animation of a a female's eye. A fly lands in the eye and the eye closes, the eyelashes trapping the fly like a Venus Fly Trap.

That's all I can remember. It has bugged me for years. What the hell was I watching?!

I seem to remember The Tick was on around the same time - possibly as part of the show, or after it/around it.

Liquid Tv. It had Aeon flux, heavily edited, which is your fly-lash thing, and those two guys who itchy and scratchyd each other entertainingly.

Thank you so much! A rapid response. It appears that was what it was. It has bothered me for YEARS.

So this was what I was remembering:

It's weird how the memory changes things. I remember the camera facing the eye head on. And I definitely don't remember it being Aeon Flux.

edit: And apparently Liquid Television was on from 91-94, so I would've been 6-9. Cripes.

I remember Fresh Prince. It was part of the holy trinity of Fresh Prince, Quantum Leap and Star Trek: TNG, wasn't it? Except when there was pissing snooker on, that is, cancelling everything that was good out for months at a time.

I also recall some handcuffed French guy in a show called Rapido, but have no idea when it was, except that it was on BBC 2 and was a sort of proto-EuroTrash of the early 90's, except a bit better due to grainy stock footage visual-catchphrase of cowboys shooting eachother.

Hmm, looks like a hazy TV memory thread in the offing. We may as well sacrifice a virgin and summon Chinnyhill right now. ;)

I think Rapido was hosted by Antoine de Caunes later from Eurotrash. And there my memory of the show ends.

Ahh Eurotrash. The best thing about that show was the Geordie (and other accents) dubbing of weird forrins.

I remember watching Eurotrash and The Word with the innocent eyes of a child and marvelling at the crazy world that awaited me.

Being a grown up is rubbish.
