Was a bit worried, as my ex had been saying he does not go to sleep easily and wakes up at 5am. So was a bit worried.

About 7 he was really tired, so took him to bed. read 5 stories as he guzzeled his milk. Went to get him a milk top up, he was out for the count.

I then had to wake him at 10:15 as we wanted to go out.

All in all a very very good weekend.

Blast!

I've just been took to an wildlife sancutary/hospital and there were finches and ducks and geese and rabbits and pheasants and pigs and goats and degus. I fingered a cockatiel.

I had an impromptu 'how to apply grass to a base' tutorial in Preston GamesWorkshop.

I only went in for a tub of yellow paint, honest!

We've ended up on Skye and it's just stunning. Empty roads everywhere and hardly any fucker about. We've been up mountains, peered over dizzying cliffs, sat and chilled on deserted beaches, happened upon seals, golden eagles and dolphins. Went out late last night and drove up the highest road on the island and sat gazing up at the night sky, then saw vast swathes of hillside burning out of control. It's the best place I've ever been. Very long post with dozens of pictures to follow soon.

It was nice seeing some people in Chester. I ate a lot of food.

If you go to Portree say hi to my Relatives, and say boo to the kids (now in their 30s) who picked on me and my brother 'cos we had London accents!

Had an email from one of the twins saying that in his latest exam module for his politics course he got another 100%, so far bringing him to 394/400.

I've now received an offer from the mobile company; but it's barely above my current salary. I'd be down from the commute (an extra £2.5k per year) and I'd be down again compared to any counter-offer from my current employer. So that's a bit disappointing. It may be that mobile firm cannot afford me, or they may be being coy about money because they know there's other firms involved; in the latter case, they may up their offer. We'll see.

Second firm (financial services) have decided they are excited about my blogging, and talking about changing the role to include some iOS dev and some technical writing, which I am very keen on. I have to meet with one of their senior tech guys on Monday evening to discuss it. Keeping my fingers crossed for this one.

Still no word on the promotion I applied for internally 74 days ago and had my second interview for 30 days ago. My boss tried to explain the delay on Monday but just waffled endlessly without explaining a damn thing.

That's pretty promising!
