Cheers, it's Communion and Christening so far this morning, so I'll take a wafer and a glass of wine, thanks.

There is a photograph of my grandfather that sits on our breakfast table in the bedroom. It has a beveled edged mirror frame engraved with what were his favourite flowers. The sun was shining so beautifully yesterday that when I walked into the bedroom the sun was catching it and filled the room with about forty bright rainbows. It was so beautiful that I called Russell in to see it. Then I stood there and cried a little. It was just so wonderful and warm and beautiful.

We have far too many photos of MrsA's university friends and far, far too few of me. We also have a picture of her grandmother, with a poem underneath it (her aunt gave it to her on occasion of her funeral) and another framed photo of mrsA's dead cat. The former I think is very much an Irish thing, as they are always lsittening who is sick or dead, but I dunno about the cat.

In our dining room we have a clock with about 9 pictures around the outside. It's got 2 hamsters in there who have since passed on, my Nan and Grandad, a few friends and family and a picture of Batman and the Joker.

It always cheers me up looking at it.

MrsA's uni friends are all sick or dead? Have you checked your teacup for poison?

No, silly, her relatives, (and my Irish ones) always list the sick and the dead when we see them. Give them a couple of beers, and they get right maudlin.

I had to throw out my Mali Bear thanks to an infestation of flour mites, and Ikea don't sell him any more.

You should have just chucked him in the washing machine, ours goes on 'The magical Water Ride' quite regularly. :)

Wouldn't have worked unless it was on the highest temperature setting (90 degrees) - the flour mites were resilient little buggers.

I imagine at 90 degrees, Mali Bear would have come out looking rather different to when he went in.

Because getting properly leathered on a school night feels much more naughty.

Also to keep the provincials out.
