It'll be interesting comparing Bobbies to the Mel Gibson version.

How do I answer that question to someone who doesn't know me? (other than to ignore it completely, which is what I plan on doing.)

Those are excellent. I didn't want that article to end. I posted a link to an article on Detroit's abandoned buildings in the other peoples photos thread. Amazing. Seems like they really need OCP about now.

I just worried that the guy who got his foot trapped in a Nottingham escalator could be Myp. Then I realised that no escalator in the world operates to such tiny dimensions that it could trap one of his feet.

Get off. I hear the olympic velodrome will be used daily by hordes of pearly kings and queens practising their lambeth walk. I can just see Micky Flanagan doing that puffed up chest dick strut for hours round there.

I've started reading Mark Twain's 'Tom Sawyer' onto my Kindle. Why did nobody tell me it was so excellent when I was growing up? It's brilliant - I bet every kid wishes he had Tom's guile and wits.

It's looking stormy again (the house just shook during a loud burst of thunder) - might end up finishing it in one sitting.

All communism is folly!

But seriously, fantastic discovery. Love the faded grandeur, the dilapidation of aspiration... and how fucked up Bulgaria became after the fall of communism.

Do your wife's eyeballs make strange noises every time someone makes an overblown effort in the kitchen and tells people all about it? It must be terrible having to live with what must sound like a constantly playing one man band following you around.
