Yeah I had one of each :metul: :spew:

Eating them straight off the pan is the best, while super hot and crispy.

I made a load of batter when I got home and it's still in the fridge. No-one remind the children.

Mrs P just delivered to me three pancakes, with cherry filling and fresh home made ice cream. Nom nom nom.

It makes giant 15" pancakes! Goddess jasmine and Joans will have no choice but to try giant pancakes this weekend. For supper AND breakfast. I don't care if you don't like pancakes.

In honour of the occasion (and because I've had a busy day so didn't make a batch up) I ordered a yank-style pancake in a cafe tonight, and soaked it in maple syrup. Yum.

I made pancake cannelloni.

I made a bolognese/meat ragu sauce in the afternoon and let it cook till about 8pm. I then made a lot of pancake mix as I wanted pancakes for dessert. I cooked six pancakes, let them cool then added large dollops of ragu and folded them into parcel tubes and laid them out in a two inch deep dish. While I was doing this I was simmering a thick béchamel sauce which I poured over the top and then sprinkled liberally with freshly grated parmesan. In the oven for 30 mins and serve. It's damned tasty.

Pancakes to follow with syrup, lemon and sugar or nutella. Funnily enough I felt quite full after that lot!

I had bacon with maple syrup wrapped in pancakes, then I fancied a fried egg and bacon sandwich so I made one of those and finished off with an another pancake with neopolitan icecream with bananas and strawberries.

What's wrong with you lot?

A pancake is made with flour, milk and egg. Cooked in a little oil.

Sugar, lemon.

Cannelloni, salmon and cream cheese blinis... Not pancakes!

(Does sound nice though, DBS... I'm popping over for tea)

Mimi: three meals a day for seventy years is more than 75,000 things you'll eat in your lifetime. Nothing wrong with a little experimentation to mix things up.

Hold on Gaywoof! I didn't say that salmon topped blinis with cream cheese piped through a nozzle are a bad thing.

I'm saying they are not pancakes

It's not clear to me on exactly the difference between pancakes, crepes, and even pikelets. They are all very similar and all very very yummy.

We bought a pan in Aldi that has smiley face patterns, so we can make cheerful little ones.

All crepes are pancakes, but not all pancakes are crepes. Pikelets are a flat crumpet made with bicarb and with a bubbly top. In America pikelet is like a drop scone, but ignore those guys as they don’t know what they’re talking about.

It’s all a waste of Yorkshire pudding mix.

I shroved my shrives.

Bean likes the thick, fluffy style pancakes, and he likes them with bacon and maple syrup, so I made a big batch for him (some to eat now, some to freeze)

To be fair, that sounds amazing.

I once went somewhere that they served a whole roast dinner in a Yorkshire pud wrap.

It was ace.

I had small thick pancakes with bacon and maple today at work. They were great, and the first time I’d tried them. Normally I’m a thin pandaje with sugar person.

Those are exactly what Darwin requested. Got some lovely dark maple syrup for them.
