Some good news, Robin Gibb seems to be recovering from his liver cancer. Considering how ill he looked in November, too.

Yeah, why is everyone in showbiz 'shocked' and so on? She wasn't Taylor Swift.

Unfortunately she was the same as Winehouse. In retrospect you could see it coming a mile off.

She had a one hundred million pound deal in 2000 to make six albums. She's made three, one of which sold a couple of million... and her record company has had to pay her royalties on those on top of the hundred million they gave her, so it's unlikely that the company will break even after 12 years no matter how much they charge now.

Big record companies are evil, true, but their staff need paying and Houston had a contractual obligation to do her part in that regard, instead she got high.

I don't blame them in the slightest.

Typical money-grabbing bastards. That's not a surprise at all. What is however is why anyone buys music immediately after that person had died. They're dead, they don't give a shit anymore, and if you really cared you'd have the album already. So, seriously, what the fuck are you doing except lining the pockets of the record company? Morons.

Good on them. Anyone who cared one jot would own the album already. Ones and zeros.

Legally obliged to maximise shareholder profits of course, so they could get sued or sacked for not taking this decision, then there's staff motivation when cuts are being made in all these places. Again, there's many reasons RCs are cunts but in this instance I hate the game more than the player.

I wonder if a flagging artist could bump their album price on iTunes, wait a week, get some rumours of their death going and see huge £££ in the hours or days until the rumour is proved false?

David Kelly has left us :( I loved him as O'Reilly in Fawlty Towers and he was an excellent Grandpa Joe in the otherwise dreadful Tim Burton Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I'm surprised he wasn't already dead. He looked bloody old when I was a kid. Seemed like a nice bloke.
