On my new phone, I can't get the Twitter iPhone client to work. It just says 'Protected Tweets' on the Home tab, and I can't get it to change. I've tried logging in and out, playing with settings, and even deleting it and redownloading it, but I can't get it working.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Dont you have a special twitter setting in the settings tab of the phone that you need to put all your details into (and then authenticate) rather than into the client ? (I gave up with the official app and have been using tweetbot for a while)

Massively embarrassed myself a few hours ago...Some guy wandered into my cabin while a colleague and I were stood around talking, the brief encounter went as follows:

I should point out before I start, this guy was very attractive.

Colleague: Alright mate, you don't look like you belong up here?
Me: Yeah, I could never get that lucky....shit...
Colleague: *Falls about laughing*
Hot guy: Er...... *goes bright red*
Me:.... I didn't mean that, I didn't mean it like that! Fucksake, shut up, dickhead!
C: *still laughing*
Me: Sorry, fuck. Anyway, what do you want?
HG: Er....is the site manager around?
Me: Downstairs.
C: *wipes away tears* Brilliant!
Me: Get fucked, cunt.

Sometimes, I think my brain actually hates me.

Oops, have accidentally gotten into an argument on Facebook with a friend of Maria's family (who I like) because she was advocating Cranio-sacral therapy as a cure for (amongst other things) infertility, baby colic, autism, ME, sciatica, scar tissue healing and other such ailments. Unfortunately, science and actual proof are no match for anecdotal evidence of it curing her daughter's tonsillitis and her son, who was formerly 'chesty' until this beautiful panacea cured them.

Goodness. Is she possibly not aware that tonsilitis isn't actually a chronic condition, so does actually just get better without the need for hoodoo?

I got an email with the subject "Last chance - Shock-absorber Sale ends Sunday - Final reductions to 50% and free returns"
and I thought, hmm... I wonder if they have anything for my Fiat 500.

Clicked on the email and it was for this place :D http://www.boobydoo.co.uk/shock-absorber

Right two questions:

1) What's the quickest and cheapest way for a tall person in their mid to late 30s to become a helecopter pilot (ie making money from flying a helecopter, not just to have a private licence)?

2) What's the quickest way to make a £1,000,000 legally when you can't sing, and are too old for proffesional sports?

There's been this weird buzzing noise in the house all evening - not a mains hum, a bit higher. Even went through to the disused west wing to see if there was something running.
Nope.. Spooky. Could hear it in every room, louder in some but couldn't pinpoint it. Turned the tv up a bit in the end.

Just now pulled my iPhone out and discovered the noise coming from it  - a brainwave stimulator app I was using at work was still merrily playing in the background.

You know, plays two tones in your ears to modulate your alpha waves and whatnot. iBrainWave, there's loads of them in the app store.

We were wanting to see if it did anything, using the EEG.

Yes, to start with anyway, then it seemed to wear off.

There's also this game where you control a rifle shooting at rabbits with the power of your mind. American.

Frankly, yes. I'm doing about 3 peoples' work right now, because our C programmer and a researcher moved on.
My dept also has vacancies for a CAD person and a mechanical engineer.
I think we also need a marketing/website programming person.

Of course you'd have to work in the radioactive badlands of Fife :)

Part of the reason we need to do the IE8 upgrade. We are moving the client to Windows 7, but we don't want two flavours of IE.

IE9 is not XP computable I believe.

I don't know about the rest of the country, but liverpool has been overrun with advertising for Noel Fielding's new 'comedy' show. From the look of the adverts, I think I would rather eat my own feet than watch one second of that technicolour abomination.

Dunno where you are, but every where I turn in my bit of Liverpool I see that sodding Usain Bolt/Richard Branson thing.

(Which was, admittedly, slightly amusing on first viewing.)

Likewise, throughout all the retail stores. Except for some reason it's me that's designed and rolled out the upgrade.

I was tempted to watch it.. but I didn't. I don't think I will.

Also, I don't mind the Virgin adverts because they're doubling my internet. I'm happy with that.

We're still on XP/IE fucking 6. There's some vague chat about checking all our systems to see if the mooted Windows 7/IE whatever upgrade will break anything but we're not exactly breaking our backs to look into it.

1) The two may be mutually exclusive. I believe you have to have a pilot's licence first, then pay for the training to convert it. Cheapest way would be to help out at an airfield in return for time in the air in someone's little plane - flying hours are crucial. But that might not be the quickest.
