We nearly went to see that yesterday, but it's too bloody long for a school night.
Pacing felt right to me. Very complete and satisfying story, and it had me guessing.
The look of the film was simply stunning. From the opening titles, which were just mesmerising, to the bleak swedish countryside and places round stockholm, everything about the look of the film was amazing for me.
I didnt know anything about the story apart from

and felt much the better for it.
The acting was incredible, especially Rooney Mara. My only negative is that I wish someone would decide on an accent and stick to it, or just do the film in english.
The swedish little detail points were great, some of the language (Hej Hej!), little open top sandwiches. Ive travelled and worked a lot in Sweden (and Scandinavia) so I appreciated these small flourishes.
I really hope Fincher is signed on to do more of this trilogy, I hear anecdotally that not all of the stories in the next novels stack up, but if Fincher is involved I cant see the guy doing any wrong. IT helps that I am a fan of his films in general I suppose.
I strongly recommend everyone see this, and dependant on your sensibilities maybe go on an empty stomach.
Unless the guy who did Drive has an insta-follow up of equal epicness, or Ridley Scott really hits a home run with Prometheus, this may be the finest film I see in 2012.
