It was almost daylight when I left Kern Hall at the usual time this morning, which always makes me feel better. Now looking forward to the moment when I leave the office and there's stil some light. Not long to go now!

Most people do this, but why? What do we expect to see in there?

It's the colour and consistency check, just like when you've had a shit.

To see if the mucus is infected. If it's gloopy and lurid green then you're ill. If it is clear then you're fine.

I blow my nose loudly in public a lot, due to my shitty sinuses.

Thats all very pretty, but when you're on the edge of the pool, you see the ledge 12 inches below you with a railing that goes forward 10 yards, and the effect is kind of lost. The experience of an infinity pool is always far better in the well positioned photograph than in reality.

There will be a small buffer tank underneath that the overflowing water drains into before it is pumped back in, so you'd have a surplus of water to make up for evaporation, and spare volume for expansion.

Not much you can do about cats apart from electrifying the water slightly.

Blowing your nose in meetings...?
Unavoidable I would say, if you've a bad cold (and assuming you cannot get out of the meeting on that basis).

Me? I find it infinitely preferable to have someone give their nose a reet good and proper blow (and consequently, shut up for a few minutes), rather than having the alternative of listening to them repeatedly sniffing down/swallowing snot every 30 seconds or so. Now that is disgusting in my book.

Relatedly, I can't stand it when people sit in the steam room or sauna at my health club for a good 5-10 minutes, then proudly announce the fact that they've the 'flu and they're "sweating it out". Yeah, thanks for that, sure the rest of us really appreciate unknowingly breathing in the 'flu virus in a confined, public space! >:|

I was thinking more about having a nice damp living room.

An aquarium and a fish tank are the same thing - and no, they're not usually open topped.

The smaller of my tanks is open-topped, bar a makeshift lid I made. It loses an awful lot of water through evaporation.

They're not usually airtight, but they're covered. It's also fairly common to have an airstone that pumps air from outside the tank, or put real plants in the tank.

Last night while trying to get to sleep I came to a horrifying realisation. I've never seen a chimpanzee have a shit. Or any ape for that matter.
