Don't you have to wait until after the sale to use it. My valve one says I have to wait until 2nd of Jan to use it.

Let's put it like this. It says the voucher is 50% off. The price had 50% off. Whether I used the voucher or not doesn't really bother me.

One of today's Steam offers is Dungeons of Dredmor for 86p (and some DLC for 49p). I already had the game from a previous sale, but only got round to playing it for the first time yesterday, in order to get the achievement to qualify for another gift. Turns out that it's a very good little game. I've not played any Rogue-like games before, but once you get over the rather bewildering amount of things to do and collect, you notice how neatly put together it all is.

Oh, the gift I got from it was a lump of coal, but never mind.

I got the achievement for that free game spiral knights yesterday. And got a lump of coal as well.

Little guide here in case anyone fancies giving it a crack.

I got said achievement. I got a voucher for a load of games I really have no interest in. (25% off any of: Dead Island, Dead Island DLC, Lost Horizon, nail'd, Risen, Rush for Berlin Gold, Secret File 2, Secret File Tungunska, Line Rider 2)

Today's Steam offers are up. Nothing too exciting from my point of view. Mount & Blade games are on offer though if you've not got them already.

Also, one of the achievements today is an easy one - just a case of joining one of the community groups. I did that and got a 50% off coupon for Storm:Frontline Nation. Not my bag, so if anyone was thinking of getting it, I'll gift it over (once the inventory page is usable again, anyway).

There is the obligatry offer of S.T.I.N.K.E.R.

For all those of you who haven't got it the previous 20 times it's been on offer.

Steam again. Limbo is £1.74 today among other offers.

Achievement-wise, if you've got 'The Polynomial - Space of the music', you can get the required achievement (flying through ten snowflakes on the Christmas level) in a couple of minutes. Another lump of coal again though.

Not much of a difference, but it's £7.85 on Shopto. PS3 version too.

Beat me to the post. Also, Frozen Synapse is £2.24 (I still haven't played my copy).

One of today's achievements is to click someone on your friends list and click 'Invite to Trade'. No idea if you have to actually trade anything (I'm guessing not). If anyone sees me online, they're welcome to click it against me. Anyone mind if I do the same to them?

EDIT - The 'Candy Stripe' achievement on Audiosurf isn't too hard to get either. Here's a video of someone getting it.

Among today's Steam offers are Skyrim for £23.44 and the rather natty Jamestown for £1.74 (The achievement for this one takes about 25 minutes). All the Tom Clancy stuff is 75% off.

Among one of the gifts I've got is 50% off Universe Sandbox. It's not something I'm likely to buy, so if anyone wants to trade a lump of coal or something for it, just invite me to trade. :) (Steam ID is consolemad, if you don't already have me on your list)

Batman:Arkham Asylum GOTY is £2.49 on Steam today.

Another easy achievement in the Gift thing too - just add ten games to your wishlist.

Today's Steam highlights are probably Test Drive Unlimited 2 for £5.09, Sonic Generations for £6.79 and Beat Hazard for £1.74.

One of the gift achievements is for Beat Hazard - 10 minutes of Survival mode, using one of the Christmas Radio stations for music. The Christmas Rock channel is a a little more bearable than the other one, on which I heard Beyonce murder Silent Night and my first Justin Bieber song. Took a good few attempts, but I just about reached the ten minute mark to unlock the achievement. For my troubles... another lump of coal. Still, that takes me to six, so one more before I can trade them in.

Icade down to £49.99 at PCworld (collect only so will depend on local stock)

http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/ion-icade ... 2-pdt.html

I got one of these for Christmas and (along with iMame) it works quite well - occasionally a little lag on some games but for most of the classics its great.

I was just about to mention that. :) I did this yesterday and it was enough to get me to seven lumps of coal, which I traded into a 50% off a Nordic game.

I did two of the other achievements too -

Sequence. A game too complicated for its own good. Although there probably wasn't much of a need for a DDR type RPG in the first place. The achievement is easy enough to get, but you'll want to play through the tutorial first.

Solar 2. Good little game actually - enjoyed playing the game for a bit before attempting the achievement.

Oh and I've got a 50% off Oblivion GOTY should anyone want to trade for it.

I did just done this and got a free game off my wishlist. (To be precise, I wrote recommendation for SKyrim which basically said "Good. Buy Dark souls")

Now I'm wishing I'd put a bit more thought into my wishlist :p

I already owned The Binding of Isaac from a previous sale, but I've only just got round to playing it in order to get the achievement. I've been rather sidetracked from that by just enjoying the game itself though. Well worth the 99p it's selling for today. Basically, a rather bizarre Smash TV clone. Don't expect that level of frenetic gameplay though - it's a little more slow-paced.

I'm guessing Steam gives you more, the more you've spent with it. I have hardly spent anything and thus.. keep getting coal and money off vouchers.

Would anyone like a lump of coal? I won't use them...

Keep them. At the end of the sale, each one is an entry into a draw. Top prize is every game on Steam, 50 winners then get their top 10 wishlist items, then 100 get their top five and 1000 get Valve packs. So it's also worth keeping your wishlist up to date too. :)

The joke would be on you. You'd have to spend thousands of pounds on enough storage space.

Indeed that it was on my wishlist may have been a coincidence.

If you've bought Universe Sandbox in yesterday's offer (ends 6pm today) for £1.74, you can get the gift achievement in less than a minute

On a more serious note, a) didn't everyone say Burnout Crash was was a bit of a turd? and b) I do opine that Dead Space 2 DLC is certainly 280pts worth of enjoyment for them what owns the game.

I think we wanted more than what we got with Burnout Crash.

But for 400 points it's a good high score challenge game.

Is this one of those where if you win, you have to bet again before you can claim your winnings?

Either way, it’s worth a punt for a bit of fun... Shame I know nothing about football.

Bet on United. City are without Yaya and Kolo Toure. Yaya is going to be a huge loss. No Balotelli either. Also, United will not want to lose against City for the second time this season. That's my opinion, anyway.
