My wifes car has had the drivers wing mirror taken off it in a ferocious* drive by. Its looks easy enough to take off and replace, but I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions of getting one to replace it online? Has anyone got a good car parts shop they’d recommend?
I’ve tried eBay but the only one I can find that would suit is second hand and covered in scratches.
*Not actually ferocious.
My father in law ordered one online after Lady T smashed the mirror assembly on the ST. It was quite cheap too, considering we had to get one that had the glass, externals, motor and gubbins on the inside, and the indicator. The front cover (I think some people call it a skull cap) wasn't painted though, so we had to get that done.
It also wasn't an original ford part, but was very very close. I could tell it was different but Lady T couldn't.
It was around 60 or 70 quid, considering Ford wanted to charge around 300, I thought it was reasonable. I was able to get a mechanic mate that owed a favour to spray it up and fit it, though I probably could have done it myself - I just didn't want to stuff it up on a nice car.
You'll want a website, of course.... I can't remember exactly what the place was called but I had a quick search and they all look pretty much of a muchness. Something like
http://www.wingmirrorman.co.uk/ is probably OK
