Dunno pal, Infinis or whatever they're called are still investigating. My pal saw it bouncing/turning from side to side rapidly before it caught fire & what was left of the blades looked to be in the normal position so maybe they couldn't turn to minimise wind resistance.

We gave a light dusting of snow which has only really settled on car roofs and shed roofs.

More snow on the mountain today, they've managed to keep it open during rush hour for the last couple of days though, which is something. It usually closes at the first sign of the first flake.

Was a bit slippery last night and this morning. Definitely need new tyres.

No gales today! Hopefully the boat will actually go...It's made 5 sailings out of 40 in the last two weeks. There was practically no fresh fruit and veg in the shop last night.

Apparently, there was traffic problems this morning, between Keighley and Bradford, that's about a 10 mile stretch or so. I'm sorry there is no fresh fruit in the shops, beware scurvy.

Twitter suggests that Bingley traffic is in shutdown. LOLZ.

Just above freezing here now, it's been pretty mild so far 6-8º for the last couple of weeks.

Probably a good thing Hel was going to Harrogate yesterday then; there was sleet and snow then too.

The met office forecast for my area directly contradicts it's own weather warnings, which is helpful.

I'll tell you now and I'll tell you briefly, I don't never want to go to Keighley.

It's snowing here. Trains are delayed and I'm furiously ignoring Grim...s dick.

I thought it had snowed when I looked out the window this morning but it just a load of hailstones sitting there. Still the roads were nice and slippy enough for to practice powersliding on the way to get some milk.

It is very Christmassy here. Only a light dusting of snow which hadn't settled, BUT Father Christmas did come around last night, with his head and upper body poking through the skylight of a shed decorated with snow and lights being pulled by a Land Rover. I suspect it was Grim... In a Santa suit.

We had that Santa come down our street the other night too. He gets about a bit doesn't he?

I saw a bit of snow whilst making my breakfast this morning. It had stopped by the time I'd finished my Frosties. Lame.

Temp was at 0º this morning on my drive to work. No snow, just a little hail from the night before.

Snow here, snow in Brum and snow in Oxford.

We're driving to Oxford later, via the vicinity of Brum natch.

Just had a flurry. Too warm to stick though, so the roads are soaking wet.

Heavy hail just now, quickly turning to icy sludge on the roads. Drive carefully, chums.

No snow here. It's all melted from Scotland's stupid storm. Hopefully it'll come back over the next few days.

We've had massive big floaty flakes, it wasn't too bad here when I went to work this morning, I had to uncover my car when I left at lunch time though.

It's been snowing steadily here for a few hours now - thankfully not heavy though.

It's worth seeing if your local council uses Twitter to publish updates. For example, it's bin day here in Newcastle, so they've at least informed people that there is no disruption to collections.

Old Man Afterthought and Mummy Afterthought left Cornwall for Bingley at 0830. The still aren't here.

We have no snow here. The girl feels robbed.

A light dusting in the area this morning but a lot of rain during the day so it pretty much vanished so nothing there now and forecast for next week is rain not snow.

In Other News...

I claim First Winter Rescue!
Twas a clear and crisp night, thankfully the wind was low - a zephyr mayhap - in the Hills of Kilry when I recieved the first call.

Wookie: yeeeaahh sure, I made it up earlier.
(sequence shortened a'la Apple)
I had made a terrible error of judgement, the temperature had plummeted by some degrees (I have no thermometer) since I had made my journey and the ice on the path had become somehow more icyerer, so much so that it deserves a capital I. Mrs. Wookie had pluckily traversed half the dreaded path before losing precious traction and slipping back on the *Ice* and into a smallish ditch.

The second phonecall was less calm so I set off, shovel over shoulder and rope in hand to rescue afformentioned damsel. First pushing - no luck, the suspension was grounded on a mound of frozen earth so we took a walk/slide to the bottom of the path to collect the pickup (truckasaurus), however towing had small effect given that truckasaurus itself was trying to drive on ice. The solution turned out to be shovelling copious amounts of pilfered grit under the wheels and applying the brake when wheelspin happened (I believe this slows the spinning wheel and transfers some of the torque to the other wheel, 'tis a fine ballance).
Mrs. wookie piloted truckasaurus while I slid about behind in the wee Golf, we made it to the top of the drive and there was a fanfare and confetti and stuff.

So ends my story, in happiness thanks to the wonder of 4 wheel drive and soft tyres. Trucks R Gud Get 1.
