Or the domain main might have expired and be up for grabs now?

Lord knows. I was half listening to QI, and something about it came up, which confused me a bit.

Apparently the air filter ices up in cold weather and the engine conks.

We should totally make one. I guess we'd need a flymo, canvas, varnish, black paint, more black paint, a hydraulic ram in case it falls upside down and an angle grinder for those air to air dogfight moments.

The only thing we'd probably struggle with is encrypting the data, but if we use Mr Dave's Phone to do that, and get Joans to wire it all together, we could our own superpower. Kissyfur can sort the power supply requirements, Grim.. can do the website front end stuff, myp the comedy beard, Gaywood can pilot the thing, you can send the ransom demands in a scarcely believable accent and I'll shag Honor Blackman.

We could put Mr Dave in it, then it would be lighter and more likely to fly.

So, I heard a version of "White Christmas" this morning which I quite liked - I didn't catch who it was by, but it sounded a teensy bit like the awesomes Harry Connick Jnr. Turns out it was Michael Bublé and Shania Twain :spew:

If he were to be captured it'd ruin the percussion, rhythm and lead guitar sections of my band. That he doesn't know he's in yet.

Also, I'd feel bad after he got tortured in the unlikely event he got captured by worse people.

Back in April 2009, I got 100% on all the levels in Peggle. For some reason, I bought it again on Steam and decided to do the same again. Handily, Steam tracks how long a game has been played, so 64 hours later (I suspect some of those hours I might have left the PC idle), I've got 100% on the PC version too. :S

I've got piles of other games to play and I'm playing bloody Peggle. I can see me alternating between Dark Souls and Peggle Nights over Christmas...

New mattress has arrived. Hurrah! Now MrsA and I have to get it up to the top floor. This involves two flights of dogleg stairs. Boo! And get the old one down two flights of dogleg stairs! Boo!

I seem to destroy mattresses. I've only had the current one about 3 years, and it's already got a massive massive dip in the middle. And Craster hasn't slept in it.

Cheery reading

Quote:
The total number of people of all ages in employment fell by 63,000 compared with three months earlier, to 29.11 million. That was largely driven by 67,000 job losses in the public sector. The private sector added just 5,000 jobs over the same period.

Quote:
The number of job vacancies continued to decline, down 8,000 to 455,000. "This is another grim month for jobs, with private sector companies still reluctant to hire," said Graeme Leach, chief economist at the Institute of Directors. "The ongoing failure to resolve the euro crisis is likely to mean that unemployment rises still further over the winter. Many businesses are still watching and waiting."

So, that's six people not working for every one job going.

I'd go with 'Gents'. The signs are cheaper.

No, I'll say tietoteknikkopääkeskus.

edit: that means computer-technician-HEAD-closet.

edit: I am referring to Davpaz.

Either B or C would be correct. C is using it in an adjectival sense ("the office where you can find technicians", rather than "the office belonging to the technicians").

I'm having trouble thinking C is correct. 'Technician Office' would be correcter. Like police station, or match box.

Noun adjuncts were traditionally mostly singular (e.g., "trouser press") except when there were lexical restrictions (e.g., "arms race"), but there is a recent trend towards more use of plural ones, especially in UK English. Many of these can also be and/or were originally interpreted and spelled as plural possessives (e.g., "chemicals' agency", "writers' conference", "Rangers' hockey game"),[2] but they are now often written without the apostrophe, although this is criticised by some authorities.[3]

Fowler's Modern English Usage states in the section "POSSESSIVE PUZZLES": "6. Five years' imprisonment, Three weeks' holiday, etc. Years and weeks may be treated as possessives and given an apostrophe or as adjectival nouns without one. The former is perhaps better, as to conform to what is inevitable in the singular — a year's imprisonment, a fortnight's holiday."
