Astronomers have found a planet. Not generally terribly exciting news, but this is different. It's located in the 'Goldilocks zone', is about twice the size of Earth and is a balmy 22 degrees Celsius. It isn't yet known what the planet is mostly made of, be it rock, gas or liquid, and a return trip would set you up nicely for the 1197th anniversary of my being crowned Lord Protector of all The World, if one could travel at the speed of light. All in all, it's pretty exciting, and there's another 1094 of them to investigate further. All really quite exciting.

That's a pretty fucking big unknown when declaring it to be "an Earth-like" planet!

They probably mean round and blueish when they say Earth-like.

To be fair - I bet we'd struggle looking at Earth from a ways away too, what with the 66% surface water coverage. And if we happened to be looking at the north-west, we'd not see either through the rainclouds.

Ahhhh, great - more worlds for us to completely fuck up (assuming we could get there!).

'rock, gas, liquid (spock, lizard)' - deep space astronomers favourite party game.
