Still yet to finish Brotherhood. Only finished II just before it came out, and got a little bored ploughing straight into Brotherhood. Think I'll pick it up when it goes "platinum" next summer. Definitely enjoyed what I've played so far of Brotherhood more than II, and I thought II was pretty good. I'm sure this one will more of the same.

Love the single player game, hate they have taken it into a multi-player route.
Will be buying AC Revelations on release

The multiplayer didn't have any impact on the Brotherhood campaign! Not sure why you'd hate its addition? It's entertaining for a couple of hours as well. At least it's trying something new rather than just deathmatch!

I need to finish BroHood! Encouragingly, I saw BroHood in Tesco yesterday brand new for like £12. So presumably Revelations will have a similarly abrupt price drop just in time for the summer drought.

My commentary on said ad:

"Ooh, Ezio's looking old... SHIT! That's Altair!"

MrsPaz's commentary on my commentary of said ad:

Not getting on with this at all. Seems like a boring by-rote replay of any of the other Ezio based Assassin's Creed. Sick to the back teeth of Ezio now. He's got as much charisma as a fresh dogshit, and as much warmth as a day old dogshit. How he's managed to get followers in every major city across Europe is a mystery.

Your group of "The Assassins" is far from secretive. Heralds will stand around bemoaning you so much that you'd've thought that they'd be mentioned every other page in any history book you've ever read. It's crap how in-the-open you are about everything you do in this. I own nearly every business in the city! And I haven't done much assassinating yet even after 24 hours of play. Why can't I make money by doing that instead of buying shops?

I'm not a historian, but I'm willing to bet money that guards weren't employed to walk on rooftops in medieval Constantinople. They're just there to ruin you enjoyment of leaping about rooftops like a twat. Which is something that everybody in the city does now. Anger a citizen? They'll jump up buildings to get to you. Anger some guards? They'll jump up buildings to get to you. See a thief or a messenger? They'll jump up buildings to get away from you. In the first AssCree it was something that only you did and I miss that.

Boring Desmond is boring. From the moment I saw 16 in the Animus it's obvious you have some kind of battle with him over the right to get into your body. Haven't got to that point yet, but I can see it coming a mile away.

Bombs are shit, and the game goes out of its way to force you to use them. The least said about the Tower Defence rubbish the better.

It's a better game than the first, but logically it makes no sense and misses the atmosphere. I can't suspend my disbelief that much.

The first game was a lovely setting, and you felt like a genuine assassin; vulnerable, yet powerful. Ezio was way too badass, bland and boring, despite it being a much better game.

I think I'm getting this at Christmas. I hope I disagree with you, Dimmers, but you've pretty much spelled out exactly what I've seen happening over the previous games. Annoying.

Yeah, the first game's dens in each city didn't even have a front door, you had to shimmy into them from the roof. This one, every den you capture has a big fucking lighthouse with a bonfire raging on top. The "call in assassins" button might as well be called "press this to cheat", you can wade in to almost anything as long as you have three bars of cheat to thin the guard numbers out a bit.

And then there's the case of shitty multiplayer shoehorned in. I hope they try and get you to subscribe with a monthly payment for that.

And there's too much... shit that he carries around now. Having to hold down RB and use a wheel to select a weapon breaks the flow of the combat. Crossbow, throwing knives AND a gun for ranged now. What's the point? Just give us more carrying capacity for the knives, they all do the same job.

The platformy sections through ruins are still excellent. The second one in this in particular was a pleasure to hold RT+A+forward through.

Fired up Brotherhood an hour ago. Completed it. I had no idea I was so close to the end when I stopped playing it. Still need to do those platformy tombs, mind. Can't be arsed with the other cheevos this time around.

Will re-rent Revelations at some point.

I've just started this tonight, and so far I wish I'd just googled to find out how it all ends... I'll give it more time before I pronounce a final judgement, but it's feeling like a bag of wank at the moment.

I stopped playing it about two weeks ago at around 50-60% through. Tediously boring non-plot which seems to revolve around finding books to get into the kecks of some Italian woman. And bombs which are shit.

I started to think I'd judged hastily once I got to wander around Constantinople for a bit, and was about to forgive it for just being a crap intro sequence. But then it made me do something called a Den Defence mission which was perhaps the least fulfilling, least enjoyable, most incongruous thing I've ever played in a game.

It's Tower Defense, basically. I concentrated as hard as I could on levelling my incredibly un-secret assassins up so that the dens were immune to the attacks. They just get worse, too. Bigger siege engines that kill everything in seconds and it takes minutes to whittle down their health.

Assassin's Creed 3 will be based in present day capital of THE MIDDLE EAST and you'll be shooting dead hordes of brown skinned Templars with your Assassin tanks.

Brotherhood handles very nicely and was very enjoyable to play, although you can already sense in it that they are running out of ideas and the plot is quite flimsy and over-stretched. It has a lot of completely optional side missions that add a nice change of tempo though, I would say it is still the second best of the series after II.

I still enjoy the actual game, but the addditions are pretty hideous. I'm on about sequence 4 and am yet to use a bomb in anger, and have avoided all tower defense other than the mandatory ones. the desmond bits are optional but mark a new low point for me.

The Desmond bits are actually the most appealing to me since I'm sick of Ezio and the "real" plot is going on with Desmond outside the Animus... but then, I haven't actually played one yet and I'm approaching everything with trepidation now.

Boring Desmond is boring. His generic face will have to carry a game on its own at some point and I dread that day.

I do enjoy this game... It seems a lot more complex than the 1st 3...

I am struggling with getting my Dens attacked, I want them attacked more as I like that bit of the game... plus I am at 2/3 for the den defence challenge.
