Hmmm , what would you do if your the minister for the cabinet office and are outside and finish reading a letter or printout from your office(*)

A) It wouldnt happen as you'd have the document in electronic format (so you could leave the laptop on the train later)
B) Take it home and shred it
C) Take it back into work and shread it
D) Throw it into the nearest bin (not even a paper recycling one)

http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2011 ... s-park-bin

Quote:
Given his title – minister for the Cabinet Office – it would be a fair assumption that Oliver Letwin would have some cabinets in which to put his documents. But Cameron's chief policy adviser has been caught on a number of occasions disposing of letters and documents in park waste paper bins.

(*) seriously no matter what my job i would never dispose of anything work related in a public bin

I'll be around, but as I average just over five posts a day, that won't exactly help much. :)

Just nipped to town and back. Saw my neighbour on the way with her child. She asked if we could hear her shouting in the mornings. It seemed rude to say 'yes' as she's got a young child and is on her own. The interesting thing was, she said that she needed to get her door fixed (she has the same landlord) and apparently he was mithering on about the cost of it, so she isn't particularly inclined to ask him to do something else. So, it'll be interesting to see if he's going to pay for the pest control, or not. If not, then I'll deal with that, then, but there's a line in the contract which states that 'the tenant shall pay the landlord's reasonable legal fees', which seems to me to be quite an ambitious clause. #itsgrimupnorth

We had a work experience boy in work this week who wanted to be an electrical engineer and is 14. I was standing in the workshop with him and the second year apprentice who is 18 and showing them how to build simple circuits. We were just chatting and I mentioned I was watching a lot of Fringe just now. They hadn't heard of it, so I explained that it's sort of like an updated X Files.
ZOMG Spoiler! Click here to view!
They hadn't heard of The X Files :(

I mentioned this to Jen last night and she was talking about how kids born in this generation are so used to technology, like it's a right to have all of these things. She also said she'd hate to be bron now since when we were growing up we went out and played in fields and forests and made dens and made up games and adventures. I guess that every generation starts talking like this though, eh? Am I old now?

I thought similar thoughts when DocG posted that video yesterday of that one year old playing on an iPad.

A lot of folk are too feart to let their weans out to play in case they hurt themselves/cause trouble/upset the neighbours/get kidnapped by paedofiddlers/whatever :belm:

That & it's easier to stick a wean in front of the electric babysitter than taking them out & doing stuff with them.
