This was pretty much my itinerary too, I'm bringing bugger all except fresh clothes and toiletries really and will buy/beg/borrow (possibly in reverse order) everything else.

Google tells me it'll take 2hrs 34mins to get to the cottage from Heysham if we use an M6 (whatever one of those is) so we'll be there about 3:30ish, maybe...?

My train is due in at 15:15 or so, so I imagine I'll be at the cottage for about 16:00

I was hoping to commandeer some kind of fridge-space somewhere (possibly before all that pesky food turns up), so, yeah, a shelf would be nice. Thanks.

Flis, we only have on M6 and it's frequently broken and often full of cars. I'd research other routes also.

What if we put the chiller in the fridge?

I'm not sure whether to buy beer here and transport it down, go via ASDA to buy beer, order beer and have it delivered or other.

I had been thinking that. Friday afternoon n'all...bound to be a cunt of a journey. Worst we get here is 30mins in a mile long queue due to road closures. And it makes the news.

A50? Tbh, we'll travel down whichever road I accidentally take us down when I miss the exit off the roundabout or the wrong junction.

We'll be there around 7 or 8, by which time you'll most likely all be soundly pissed.

People need to tell me what to buy at Asda. I will go when I get to the cottage, after unlocking it and dropping off the wife and child.

Other people are only allowed to assist me in shopping if they don't hang around for bloody hours mulling over eight different varieties of yoghurt. I have no qualms about leaving people at The Asda if they're too slow.

In other news! I've had 6 hours sleep in the last three days. I can't afford to have tomorrow off really, so I need to do a day and a half's work in the next three hours, get home, prep Friday night's dinner, pack the car and be on my way by about 8 o'clock tonight.
