W00t! You have to share with Flis though. :p

MrsA indicated to me last night that some of the rooms have a double and a single bed in them.

:this: is true. We had a room like that last year.

Getting there early?

I had best organise with the owner to check that's possible.

Probably easiest for us to leave straight after a bottle feed of the screaming devil, so maybe arrive at 12.30-1ish?

Landlord permitting, obv.

When I say "early" I mean "earlier than we would have got there if we were working until 1pm and then had to travel over". So arriving at about 1pm rather than 3pm.

I can't believe you couldn't read my mind ;)

RE:Logs

There's a few shops selling both logs and kindling around me, so I'm happy to pick some up. I'll check out volume and price later on this afternoon.

I had Kill Doctor Lucky. It was well funny. And then a few other games made by the same people, as they were very cheap.

I think one was called "Devil Bunny Wants a Ham", and had a superb description on it.

Can I strongly suggest that we buy BBQ stuff NOW, as no doubt the supermarkets will have had a run on the stuff for the heat wave, to avoid taking another tour of Derby trying to find flammables like last year? By stuff I of course mean either charcoal and ignition-causing stuff, or several party-size disposables.

FAO Alberto and others catching public transport.

From Derby bus station you need to catch the Arriva number 37 http://www.arrivabus.co.uk/serviceInformation.aspx?id=11577&r=UK or the number 38 http://www.arrivabus.co.uk/serviceInformation.aspx?id=2452. The stop to get off at is Stenson Fields, Pilgrims Way and the cottage is then just a few minutes walk away (the attached map gives a rough idea of where the cottage is, but I seem to remember it being set quite far back from the main road down a windy road).
Attachment:
Stenson Fields.png

The Asdas is along the same bus route, you just need to stay on the bus for a couple of extra stops and get off at Sinfin Dunoon Close/Community School. The attached map shows where The Asdas is located.

Oh and the postcode for the cottage is DE73 7FT.

I wouldn't worry about doing runs to the ASDAS on public transport and struggling back with bags, there should be plenty of us there with cars to do trips down there.

It apparently sleeps 34. We have 30 confirmed peoples and a few maybes.

So, yes there's space. You'll have to share a bedroom with someone, but there is indeed space.

With just ONE WEEK TO GO we can officially start getting excited now, yes? 8)

Have we decided what we're doing with the excess money? Are we buying communal supplies? We should make a list. I like lists.

Communal supplies, with the remainder (if there is any) going towards whenever we order takeout.

It's also easily walkable y'know.
And there was far far too much food and everything last year.

Curio - Could you set up an account with Asda online, allow more organised persons to have the password and let them add the items to the basket? I don't mind assisting with this.

What 'bout other non-food related items? Do we need extra xbox controllers or anything like that? Games? Mics? Batteries for said peripherals?

I'm bringing sweets and chocolate as I am on a proper binge next weekend. I haven't had an alcoholic drink for about 4 or 5 months either so I hope to get a room near the bathroom. :metul:

Other than that, I plan to just turn up and wing it. If needs be I'll drive Ange, Curios credit card and her list to the shop and let her run free in The ASDAS :D

If I remember rightly, there's only 1 tv in each cottage, so the smaller cottage had the xbox/Rock Band/general instrument room, and the other was barely used (if at all?).
All(?) the rooms have their own bathroom, so you don't need to worry unless Ramsea beats you to it.

I'm not sure what the feeling is re: XBox gubbins, but last time we sort of outlawed video games other than Rock Band-esque ones as they were too antisocial. Or something.

This time around the smaller cottage is a dedicated 'quiet house' (moreso at night than during the day), so anyone who goes to bed early, wants a break, or has a baby gets shunted in that direction.

I'm sure we can set up a Guitar Hero room in the main cottage if required.

I'll not have drunk a drop of alcohol for 5 weeks by the time we get there. I'm going to get pissed pretty quickly!

We should just use the entire budget for pumpkins and giant Frankenstein's monsters. I reckon everyone would be way grateful of that. Much better than bacon and toilet paper.

Also: I can haz witch outfit, yes?
